  • Really good all terrain scooter.
Style: All-Terrain Color: Black
This went together easily without even going through the instructions. The brakes were already adjusted correctly and work pretty well. They are nothing fancy, and just press down on the rear wheels. The wheels are large and pneumatic. They were already inflated. Having larger, air filled tires really helps on rough, gravel surfaces. The build quality appears pretty good with adequate adjustments for those 5'11" and taller. The knee rest may be too high for those much shorter. I had used a borrowed Elenker branded scooter for a a few days before this one arrived, and this one suits my usage much better. If your need a scooter, especially for rougher terrain, I recommend you give this one a try. ... show more

  • Best stability in a scooter I have found! Perfect for big guys like me.
Style: All-Terrain Color: Blue
Best scooter I have purchased, and I went through a number of them with past surgeries. The Vive All Terrain Knee Scooter has better construction than the others and larger, wider wheels give it more stability. I am six foot and packing a little extra weight and this scooter glides and turns effortlessly. While the standard seat is great, I would suggest the Vive Mobility Knee Walker Padded Gel Cover. It provides awesome padding for the long haul. I've read the other reviews on the pad, but I have had no problems with it, and it is easy to install. ... show more

  • So far so good
Style: All-Terrain Color: Black
Needed something more versatile than the scooter the doctor’s office gave me for where I lived. This is stable and the large tires do great outside on all different kinds of terrain. My only complaint so far is the seat isn’t as soft as I would expect, it’s a pretty’s stiff, almost a rubber like material, compared to the first one I had from the doctor’s office. ... show more

  • Worth every penny!
Style: All-Terrain Color: Blue
I got this for after heel surgery. I figured I would mostly use it here and there and rely on my crutches. Boy was I wrong. I’m so unstable on my crutches I fell 3 times just trying to get into the house! I have been on the knee scooter ever since. Makes everything so much easier. I do recommend getting one that has a bag in front as it makes moving things around a lot easier. The knee pad itself is ok, I appreciate what it does having designed divots in it helps stabilize your knee but it does make it all a bit harder. The brakes are super responsive and sturdy. As an almost 300 pound person, I was concerned about falling off other knee scooters. Not even a concern with this. Relatively easy to assemble. Definitely practice before major use though. Takes a few tries to get comfortable with it. I got the all terrain beefier tires as I live on dirty road and it January and quite snowy. It handles rough terrain pretty well. Being bone weight bearing right now and having some pretty big tire indentations from the cars mixed with ice I was glad my husband was there to help. The turning radius it pretty good. I do have some spots where I have to drag it or work do 7 point turns. But my house is small and tight so honestly it does a great job. Never felt like I was going to fall of it. It’s larger than I thought I was hoping it could fit in a stair as I have 2 I have to get up or down to get out and in the house sadly it’s to large for this. But I do sturdy that I feel this is a good compromise. Definitely feel better using it without the worry of falling off. The handlebars fold down which made it fit in my husbands small suv well, probably would fit in a compact car. Won’t fit in a smart car (moms car). I would recommend practicing this once or twice especially if you have an inpatient husband like mine :) ... show more

  • THE GOOD & NOT SO GOOD
First, I’m comparing the VIVE KW Model MOB1007 to a rental unit I used for four weeks. I have used the VIVE since 1/30/19. I am 5’ 8” tall, about 190 lbs, Age - 65. I’ve given the VIVE 3 Stars, however 2 ½ would be more accurate. THE GOOD: • Arrived on time. Box in good condition • Easy assembly (but see The Bad under ASSEMBLY) • Good value for the money overall after the adjustments I will make • Good construction overall (but see The Bad – TURNING RADIUS) • Very roomy storage bag (but again, see The Bad – STORAGE BAG) THE BAD: ASSEMBLY: Be SURE that the brake lines to the rear wheels come off the RIGHT SIDE of the frame and do not end up UNDER the frame. Instructions never mention this. I had to disassemble and start over once I figured this out. SEAT (see picture): As one reviewer mentioned, the seat is hard as a rock! Not good when you have a painful knee. Regardless, DEFINITELY buy the Universal Knee Walker Pad. Even that wasn’t enough padding for my knee. I ended up using a piece of foam between the seat and the Universal Knee Walker Pad. Problem solved. The dual position seat (allowing you to stand sideways when stationary) is a good feature. TURNING RADIUS: Much shorter than my rental. This is due to the construction that includes a welded on metal pin on the front of the frame that stops the turn radius. The REASON this is a total pain is that it requires many more “3 point turns” to change direction 180 degrees. The one thing I learned quickly using a knee walker is that one is backing up as much as going forward. This will be an easy modification. I’ll simply hack saw off the welded on pin. WHEELS (see picture): It is beyond me WHY the manufacturer used wheels that have a rounded “tread” or said another way, the point of contact between the wheel and the riding surface. I’m including a picture showing the actual contact wear of a wheel – about ½ inch of contact per tire x 4 tires = 2” total contact of wheels to surface. The results are a VERY ROUGH and UNSTABLE ride on anything but an absolutely smooth surface. Fortunately, the wheels are pretty much standard size. My fix will be to replace all 4 wheels that have a completely FLAT SURFACE area. Possibly even air filled tires. It’s either that or hang on for dear life! STORAGE BAG: This is a minor thing I’ll admit. Just a pain when trying to carry a travel cup of coffee. There are two web type drink holder pouches on either side of the bag. Fine for holding a couple of bottles of beer but there is NO WAY a standard size travel mug will fit. And yes, I have tried to carry a travel mug in the large compartment. Result, mug tipped over and leaked. Guess I just need to buy a better travel mug! BRAKE LOCKING MECHANISIM: The rental unit I used had the standard hand brakes but a much different rear wheel locking system. On the rental, all you had to do to lock the rear wheels was push the brake handles down. This totally locked both rear wheels. To release, you simply pulled the hand brakes up. The VIVE locking system is, IMHO, horrible. If you have read the specs/info you will have noted that to lock the rear wheels you squeeze the right hand brake while at the same time pushing in the lock button. A couple of problems with that. • It takes a great amount of hand strength to squeeze the hand brake enough in order to engage the brake locking pin and to disengage it. This certainly would be problematic if you have any right hand issue that has caused a lack of hand strength. • If you are left handed – you would have to reach across the handle bar and use both hands to lock the wheels. Even right handed, I have to use two hands and I have decent hand strength. There is a predrilled hole on the left hand brake that would accommodate the locking pin (see picture). Perhaps it is possible to order a “left hand model”?? I did consider, for left handers, reversing the hand brakes. I don’t really think this fix is an option as the locking pin would be facing downward. • Once you do get the locking pin set, the right rear wheel brake locks out well. The left rear wheel is only partially locked and can still turn. If there is an adjustment or adjustments for any of the above, they are not included in the Owner’s Manual. ... show more
