Filled with water this hoop doesn't move. It's set to the after school league height for a 5th grader but easily can be adjusted to high school levels. If your child practices as frequently as mine you should also get a two pack of replacement nets. The one included eventually wears down. The replacements are under $10 on Prime (red white & blue style) and are higher quality. The unit itself is solid and will last a long time. I'll soon be draining it and filling it with concrete instead so there's no damage in freezing conditions. ... show more

Overall this is totally worth the money. It assembles about as normal as you’d expect (use a power tool if you can) and the metal is good. The hoop and net are very good, and it can adjust low and high with just two bolts removed and tightened. Only grip is it takes forever to fill with sand. The hole is tiny and with a funnel took almost an hour and 3 bags. Make sure your sand is bone dry - mine was a little moist and it was time consuming. I live in Chicago and didn’t want to use water for obvious reasons. Other than that, keep expectations in check this is a low cost product but better than the price would reflect. The backboard is obviously plexiglass but it behaves close to a normal backboard. And if this thing smashes into the ground on a windy day it won’t shatter. Adjustments are slow requiring tools but the range is quite large. This is good for kids and adults. Will see how the hardware holds up to winter because I’m leaving it outside year round, but everything is at least grade 4 hardware and most of the important bits are grade 8.8 ... show more

This was the biggest present my son received for the holidays as he was asking for a hoop for months and finally got one. My husband said it was not easy to build but it is now in our front yard. My son is loving it. We put weighted bricks on it to keep it steady as well.

The durability was shameful, despite being full of water it would always fall during windy conditions. The rim is flimsy and is extremely bent. I don’t recommend at all.

I tried for over an hour to install the net on the hoop. I think they had a monkey tie it together. All the attachment loops criscross the hoop circle instead of each consecutive loop being able to attach to the hoop attachment point next to the previuos one. I ended up going to a local sporting goods store and paying $9 for a new net so my son had a working Christmas gift. The guy at the sporting goods store looked at the net and laughed. The proper net took 5 minutes to install. Second issue was one of the pole pieces was bent so it would not fit the next pole piece. I had to hammer it into shape to get the two pole pieces to fit together. Hammering the piece caused paint to chip off which I know will cause the metal to rust at some point. I thought the instructions where complicated but workable although you do need some mechanical aptitude to understand them. I can see why others had issues. It would help greatly to have a Yuotube video showing how to assemble it. Don't think I could recommend this item. There are lots of choices out there. ... show more
