  • Easy to use and configure
This irrigation kit is very easy to use. Figure out how you want to configure it, find the pieces in the plentiful supply provided, and then use the provided hose cutter to cut your lengths of hose and assemble. The only issue I had was, in the assembly, there's a threaded cap on each piece and I was not able to get a single one to thread back on after attaching the hose. However, this does not seem to result in any leaks, as the hose connections are very tight. I've used this to water my brand-new pumpkin patch for six days now and the seeds have sprouted and are going strong. One thing I like about this vs. a soaker hose is that there's no wasted water -- you target where you want the sprinklers and you can adjust how strong they are by turning them and positioning them vertically. I'm looking forward to adding more raised beds. It will be easy to extend the system with additional sprinklers. ... show more

  • Good quality but connector types are limited.
Like most of the irrigation kits I have, this kit is made of good quality materials and everything works well enough. But, like most kits there is only 1/4 inch tubing and connectors. With the 1/4 tube you are limited in the length of a garden row you can irrigate properly as the water pressure falls off after only a few emitters. There just is not enough capacity flowing through the small tube to get any more than a dribble. In some situations that is all you need but most require more water. What all these kits really need to work correctly for any distance is a larger diameter tube as a main line to carry water to the end of each pair of rows. I an including a couple pictures of rows I have set up previously giving examples of a pair of "dribble" rows and a pair of full coverage rows. Pic 1 all I need is for each tomato plant to get water at its base so a 1/4 inch line for each row is fine. Pic 2 are carrots and onions that need water in a more even pattern so they need a larger main line to get water pressure to the ed of the rows. Also, the lower your water pressure the closer you will need to place your emitters. ... show more

  • Keeping Those Plants Watered
I was finally able to get a garden started this year, but one of the big things that has plagued my success was making sure everything was watered as it needed to be. I have a bad habit of forgetting to water my plants, so I wanted something that could be on its own drip system that I could set up and leave. This system has worked out great. It took a little while to get it set up the way that I needed it, and I had some problems with getting the connectors to stay in position at first, but now that I have adjusted everything the way I needed it to be, it's doing the job. I have it setup with my rain barrel, so I don't have to stress about leaving the lines open and my plants are all the happier for getting a consistent watering. ... show more

  • Great drip system
Got this for my garden thus year and what a water saver. No more spraying over everything and have to stand for an hour or so watering. This waters right at the roots for deep watering for healthy plants. Love this setup.

  • Couplers OK, but emitters have problems.
Overall, these are pretty complete kits, although not to the level of the DIG kit I bought at my local big box store, which has the larger 5/8" tubing for the main distribution. However, the main problem I had, similar to others here, was that the tubing size isn't well matched to the emitter heads, so while it's possible to get the hose onto the barbed end, there's no way to get the nut over the resulting bulge far enough for it to actually engage threads. The splitters work fine, but not the emitters, so apparently they aren't the same design. Hopefully the hose won't blow off under normal pressure, but this doesn't come with a pressure regulator or backflow preventer that you get from the higher end kits. While not totally unusual, the emitters themselves are pretty finicky as well. ... show more

  • Getting Our Newest Raised Beds Summer-Ready
I've just set up a new drip irrigation system for my latest raised garden beds, and it came with everything needed to get started. The pieces in the kit look strong and made to last. Fitting the parts together required more effort than anticipated, which could be frustrating if you experience similar issues. Putting it all together was a bit tough for me—my hands aren’t as cooperative as they used to be, and fitting the small parts together was challenging. It's definitely a good idea to tackle this kind of project when it's cooler out, as it does take some effort. Now that it’s all in place, I’m looking forward to seeing how it stands up to our intense Florida summer. If it keeps my plants nicely watered through the heat, it’ll be a big win for my garden! ... show more
