They look pretty sturdy, but they were way too bulky to be able to skate properly. And the plastic under the skate, didn't look like it would hold up in really cold temperatures. I tend to skate whenever I have the chance, including negative degrees and I was afraid of the plastic snapping of it got hit, as it's not connected to anything. But the biggest reason I returned, was you couldn't really maneuver your feet correctly, it was more like a snow board boot fit than ice skates. But I'm sure they would keep your feet warm and toasty and they fit all the way up to a men's 9/ women's 11. So that was nice. My son wanted to learn to skate and play hockey. I found these as a cheaper alternative to learn to skate and grow with instead of other big name brands. And they have done the trick, making it a great simple way to teach him while being able to adjust the size as he grows. The only complaint is the laces are very very cheap and started fraying within a few uses ... show more

I could not be happier with this purchase. The inside of the skates are very padded and soft. My favorite part are the ankle clasps. For the price of these, I could not be happier.
