I’m struggling here. First, it’s a strong, powerful nice looking fan. The cooling function—I don’t know. I live in ny so technically it’s too humid for it to work but I was hoping it would do something. Also, no way I’m leaving a window open with the ac on, even if that’s how an evaporative cooler works. Also concerned there’s no way to clean/sanitize the cooling pad. Blows a nice strong breeze. Oscillates well, fairly quiet. I like that I can add water and two freezer things come with it. The breeze can be nice and cool with that. Holds a lot of water, probably a gallon. All I had to do was take it out of the box and assemble the base which was 2 pieces, then thread the wire and plug through (easy) the channels in the base. The fan is quite however the attraction to this fan is the hope that it will blow colder air and it does not. I have been trying the cold packs that it came with as well as my own and this function or feature does not seem to work at all. Very disappointed. Unless the cooling feature is accessed threw the remote which I lost this just does not work. ... show more

This fan moves a whole lot of air, with the option to cool the air. I like the white noise when I sleep and, when taking or making calls, I like the option to silence the noise but keep the air flow.

The Dreo "Icy Wind" is a solid fan and a decent humidifier, but it is not a cooler. Even with water and ice packs, the temperature difference is minimal. On higher fan settings, it is too noisy for sleeping in a 300 sq. ft. room. Overall, it was a disappointing purchase and has been returned.
