Last time I purchased a space heater was 5 years ago. I bought it for my office and still use it. It also is 1500W and works fine but the oscillating started making noise over time. It's big and ugly compared to this one. This one is much quieter, smaller and puts out the same amount of heat. Now all heating elements are essentially 100% efficient assuming nothing is wrong with it, so besides looking better and being quieter it's a space heater like the rest. They pretty much have to have tip over protection and overheat protection. But still, they do start fires in many homes each year so be careful. ... show more

I bought two, this one and its smaller sibling. So far I've only used this one. It is positioned between living and dining rooms. It keeps both areas warm as well as the kitchen and bathroom as long as dors are open. I bought the smaller unit for the bathroom, but so far haven't needed it. It's set to 74 at night. Temperature is fairly constant with a little drop-off the farther you move away. Still comfortable though. It's quiet. Sometimes I don't know it's working unless I stand directly in front of it. The only cos for this unit is its lack of keypad lighting. The remote works fine but again no backlight. All in all I'm more than pleased. Great product! ... show more

Have this under my desk at work to keep my feet and legs toasty during the colder months (and the warmer ones as the AC here is insane), don't hear a peep from it after turning off the beeps. The oscillation helps keep things from getting too hot at once, and I also can't hear it turning at all. The temperature setting mode is good if you're not looking for constant heat, but if things do get too cold it's quite easy to switch over to the Hi heat mode. ... show more

Very nice compact portable heater. At first while unpacking the unit I was a bit unsure of the power it would produce. But when I plugged it in, I was very surprised as to how powerful this unit was. Heats very nicely for a small unit. Has several settings, including a remote and safety feature in case it tips over. I use for my bedroom and basement bathroom. I have a huge house and have three of these heaters. What a difference they make! They put out a lot of heat and have some terrific useful features. Here's what I love: -- Oscillating option -- Great heat output -- Remote control lets you turn it on and off and access all the features -- It beeps when you change an option, and you can turn off those beeps so it's silent -- Has 1000, 1300 and 1500 watts settings -- Almost silent on 1000 watt setting Here's what I don't love so much: -- Remote control buttons are flush, not raised, so you can't use it in the dark -- Remote needs to be aimed carefully at the front of the heater to work -- Tip over shut off doesn't always work.
