When the weather turns chilly and those pipes are taking their time sending the heat up to the living room or bedrooms, you can quickly reach a warm comfortable feeling with this portable Dreo radiator heater. With its classic design, light weight, wide handles and large easy rolling wheels, you can move this effective heater around to wherever you need it. The oil based fuel only takes a few minutes to warm up and you are able to see the temperature through both the numerical digital display and the color banded temperature indicator. The heat reaches well into the room – we were testing it, unfortunately, when we received it in the middle of the summer but, nonetheless, we could feel the radiant warmth at least 15 feet away. I’m certain that it could warm up a decent sized room during the winter, too. There are four (4) different heat settings from which to choose. I would caution you to open this up on its side because the tip-proof wheels are not set during shipping and the radiator may tip over until you have the chance to swing and lock the wheels into place. Once the wheels are set, their wide spacing will effectively keep the radiator from easily tipping over. You can operate the radiator either through the digital buttons on its facing or through the handy remote control. For safety precautions the unit has overheating protection, tip-over shut off function, and an enhanced safety plug. There is also a 24 hour timer for your convenience. It sort of has the look of one of those old-fashioned cast iron steam radiators but modified with modern flame retardant materials and finished off in a glistening glossy black. The unit is a little bigger than our previous portable heater but it heats up faster and radiates its heat farther. It’s definitely for indoor use only but it can be used in any room and even in a garage or weatherproofed tool shed. ... show more

    • Great heater, needs another handle and safer legs

I love most all of Dreo's products, and when this came out, I had to try it. Radiant heaters like this do well to heat up a room, while other blower style heaters are more suited for spot heating. The product was well packaged and appears very well made. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Setup is fairly simply; remove it from the box, flip out the feet with casters, remove a few labels, plug it in and go. I tried it immediately after receiving it and was impressed with how quickly it started providing ambient heat. Since it's currently 90 degrees outside, I can't really judge how well it's going to heat a room, but the features I tried all worked well. I do have two issues with the design: - There's one handle on the back side of the heater that's fine for pulling it around on its casters, but not great for picking up the heater. I wish there was a second handle, and indent or something other than the heated fins on the front you can use to pick it up. The unit is heavy, and the bulk of the weight seems to be in the front of the unit. - The casters are on legs that "flip out" when the heater is in use. I suppose you might flip these inward for storage purposes, but I don't think it's likely. The problem with this is that there's no catch or screw to hold the legs in place, and if you pick up the heater to move it, you may need some fancy footwork to get the feet back in position before sitting it down. Twice I've knocked the heater over because of these legs. It would be logical to me to have some kind of retaining clip or tensioner, or even a screw, that you can use to fasten the legs into the standing position. I expect I'll probably try to find a solution (maybe strong double-stick tape?) when I start to use this in the Fall. By and large, I'm happy with the product and fully expect to use it full time in my large family room. Because of the two issues I mentioned, I dropped a star. If you're aware of these issues and can live/work with them, then I have no hesitation in recommending it to potential buyers. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Wow, such a great Oil heater with remote and great interface. This is my first time experience with oil filled heater, I've seeing using the air forced heater and had issues with air getting too much dry, so was looking for alternatives and was initial skeptical to order this one. But this one has much advanced features that are very essential to any household. It get's the heat slower but sustains for a good time, we can feel the warmness upon starting it and absolutely no noice at all. The provided handle is very useful to carry the heater and to my surprise it's taller than my expectations. The Caster are great at turning it, but it's not the smoothest, it get's stuck while turning it. On opening the packages the machine is kept upside down but the cartoon on the picture is other ways, so be prepare for that. Remote is of great help, I can't stress more on the usage of it, it's so handy we can keep adjusting the timer or temperature, I really loved the front panel because it's a crystal clear display super cool, big fonts intuitive icons and good features, the touch area on the front panels really adds more value and looks trendy on usage. The ambient temperature light is my fav, it's so great that I didn't expect on the heaters. Upon that, we can control the beep sound wow, I like it because I hate the beep sound on nights. Fonts display can be see clear on any direction and that also very clever that it will adjust to the ambient light, On dark rooms you will get the display off by it's own, how cool it's, I really like it, because if it's on, the light will be very bright and disturbance. Heater doing its job well, as mentioned on the product I did used it for 2 hrs initially and didn't had much of smell as mentioned it's very much tolerable and didn't last for more than 10 mins, painting quality and materials are great, tip over feature and child locks are very good to have it. It's not super heavy at the same time good weight also. I would definitely recommend this product, you will love it. ... show more
