I’ve had a similar 25-drain snake like this for decades that I use to clear my drains. But there is a section of the sewer pipe under my house that periodically gets clogged (with my wife’s hair), and it is 40-feet from the sewer clean-out. For that job, I used a (no-drum, no-drill) handheld 50-foot snake, but it was very difficult to spin and use. I don’t have room for a motorized 50-foot snake (and don’t want to spend that much money). So when I saw this 50-foot (drum-held) crank-or-drill-operated snake, I grabbed it. The snake comes with gloves and (more importantly) a nice storage bag, which is a great to have. I have played with it and extended the snake. It seems very sturdy and well-made (like my similar 25-footer) but fortunately, I have not yet needed to use it to clear my 40-foot trouble-spot. I have high confidence that this snake/auger will clear that clog next time that it occurs. If it doesn’t, I’ll revise this review. But until then, this seems like a very good snake/auger at a reasonable price, so I’m giving it 5-stars.

There's not really a great deal to describe... It's an extremely simple to use tool that attaches directly to your drill chuck. Once the center pin (my one complaint) is firmly locked in place, simply let out enough of the snake (if the clog is more than 50 feet from the closest access, you're better off calling a plumber) to wrap up whatever is clogging the drain, and hit your drill trigger. The spring end *SHOULD* catch on to whatever might be clogging your drain, and wrap it up sufficiently to break it free. Remember to lock down the set nut on the end... I like the fact that this design gives you one handle in each hand (one on the drill, the other on the drain snake assembly). This gives the user better grip and stability. Now, my one "complaint" about this tool: The pin around which your drill chuck catches is round. It would have been tremendously helpful for gripping if the end had been hex. A hex quick-lock would have been ideal. However, I'm not going to complain too much... not a deal-breaker. It would just have been nice to have. Overall performance was excellent, and the carrying bag and gloves were a nice touch. The bag is rather flimsy, but one can't complain. It was included in the package. Many companies don't provide these two additions, and still cost more. Wholehearted four star recommendation.

This is a moderate duty drain auger snake that can be used by hand or with a power drill. The 50 feet of line helps you remove clogs and clear out plumbing with ease. This tool has quite a bit of weight to it so it has a sturdy and heavy duty feel to it, mostly attributed to the 50 feet of snake of course.

This is exactly the type of tool I think of whenever I have a clogged drain that resists other methods. This is the og drain snake and it works amazing. This feels like a tool that many plumbers and maintenence men need to have in their toolbox. Very heavy and well built device. It works quick and easy. This is a standard 50-foot drain snake with a drill attachment. It’s definitely a useful tool if you have older plumbing. It helps clear clogs caused by greasy food buildup or hair. I already had a 25-foot drain snake, but it wasn’t long enough. This one offers greater reach and works very effectively.

The media could not be loaded. This does not work great. Tried with multiple drills. Husband works in maintenance and this would have come in handy. Very loud, the piece that should come down and unwind does not come out unless u pull it. Getting it back in is next to impossible.

I use to be a plumber many years ago and I have used a bunch of these. I would consider this an entry level item as there are a few issues with it. The barrel is sealed so it is going to be harder to clean out, so make sure to clean the rod as it goes back in the drum! THe drill attachment is also not that great once it hits a clog
