As someone who is just starting out, I love the ergonomics of this machine. It's lightweight, well, evenly weighted for your hand, it isn't top-heavy with the power supply attached so it won't tire out the hand or wrist. The needle stroke on this is 3.5mm I believe and the one battery I received lasts around 7-8hrs for me. The practice skin it came with while it's okay, not the best one, it stains very easily and can make it hard to get ink off once it's on. You can use a little Vaseline or another type of ointment for tattooing to create a very light barrier between the skin and the ink so it doesn't deposit in the porous surface. Overall I say this is a very nice machine for the price point and suggest it for what it comes with. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the kit with 2 batteries and I only got one but I decided to keep it and have it as a back-up! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great for practice. Ink carts don’t hold a lot of ink. After a stencil or two gonna need to replace em which could get costly. But to have the ability to just plug up and practice makes this worth it.

I’m not a tattoo artist, as you can see. I really just needed to perform the cathartic act of scribbling on fake skyns! I feel better now. You member those little clicky pencils from back in the day? It’s kinda like that but with a twist and power. The black ink that came with the pen is better than the other black inks I’ve tried as will as the practice skin. Definitely need to get more adhesive tape to make a more comfortable grip. She’s cute ... show more

This is such a nice kit, I really, really wanted to give it a big thumb's up. Unfortunately, mine arrived with the tattoo pen being D.O.A. That means it was as dead as a doornail. I tried four different batteries, and an AC power supply... it's dead. Mades me really unhappy because this is a unique tattoo pen in many ways. I'm not talking about the blingy blue light at the top, or the fact that it has tiny blue lights around the top when the battery is on. No, sir. It really has some nice features. I only wish mine worked. This tattoo pen has a rather unique grip, and I really liked it. It feels good in your hand, and it feels natural. 99% of tattoo pens don't have that going for them, and it makes it harder for newbies to feel comfortable. This addresses that problem, and it does so beautifully. The kit also has a very good, lightweight Dragonhawk battery pack, so you immediately avoid all the issues associated with having to use an AC power supply (foot switch, power cord, clip cord). It's nice to be unencumbered in this way. There are 10 tattoo needle cartridges, and they're very good quality. They are 5 1205RL (liners) and 5 1205M (magnum shaders). They're also color coded so you can tell the difference between the two at a quick glance. Also included are: a roll of black grip tape, a set of ink caps, the battery pack, a single pair of black rubber exam gloves, a small bottle of black ink, a Dragonheart black rubber, a single sheet of tattoo practice skin, and a single sheet of tattoo design transfer paper. Another addition to this kit is the surgical marker. It's something I have only seen once before in a kit. The marker comes with a small ruler, as well This is a really nice kit, and would be great for someone just getting into tattooing. Everything you need to begin to practice is here.
