I wasn't sure how much I would use a smokeless firepit so I want to get an inexpensive one I could use with a variety of firewood and deadwood from my yard to test out and use for entertaining. This is perfect for that, and I have used it 3-4 times so far. It's a nice way to keep the fire contained and it doesn't transmit the heat to the ground much at all. So it's great if you don't have a dedicated firepit area. You can easily use it on your lawn. The smokeless aspect definitely works, and you get complete combustion of whatever wood you put in with minimal need to tend the fire. Aesthetically, I don't think any of the smokeless pits look very good. They all kinda look like small trash can fires. ;) But this one looks as good as any of the others I saw, and of course it is literally about half the price. As with most of these units, you have to turn it over to dump out the ashes after use. You want to wear workgloves for that, it is made of thin metal. If there is any downside to the unit, it is the sharpness of the metal construction. There are several ways I could see cutting or hurting myself given the thin gauge of the metal. But if you are careful when handling, it is fine. Just be aware of that! I read the reviews carefully before buying this fire pit, and the one thing noted was that the black finish (paint) will wear off quickly on the inside and potentially lead to corrosion. It looks like this might be happening after 3-4 burns. However, I am not convinced this will lead to a lot of corrosion for all users. It is mostly aesthetic for now. I imagine it depends greatly on how you store it, how humid your environment, etc. If you want it to last for 5 or 10 years, then you would need to paint the inside occasionally to protect it. No doubt about that. So, I'm happy with the purchase, and if I find it doesn't last a super long time even with good care and maintenance, I will alter the review. BUT, for the price, I will be happy regardless because it let me test out the smokeless firepit concept at a pretty low cost.

I purchased this smokeless fire pit in September 2021. We’ve used it between 10-15 times since then. Truly works great, plenty of heat and little smoke once going. I have always dumped the ash within 2 days of use and then covered with supplied cover. Has never been rained on without cover. Last weekend (3/25/23 so 18 months after purchase), I was very disappointed to see that the center of the bottom grate had rotted and barely touching it just broke away. We still used it and it worked, but am concerned it won’t be long before the efficiency will suffer as the rest of the grate falls apart and the wood simply sits on the bottom of the stove. I believe this because air needs to be able to get “injected” beneath the flame to assist with burning. Time will tell, but I imagine this will be the last year that we will enjoy this particular fire pit / stove as it rusts away. For the money, I would’ve expected more than 2 years use considering the care to keep clean and dry.

It is already rusted. The cover that came with is all torn and worn out. It is not as smokeless as it claims. Very disappointed.

I could not convince myself a big steel can to have a fire had the $400 of value the name brand was going for. I bought this for a lot less and it works well. Easy to start a fire and nothing left but a handful of clean ash. The outer shell stays cool to the touch so it's safer for kids. I put a fireproof under it but I am not even sure its needed. As everyone says, it does direct heat up rather than out so as is it is not the best for keeping warm. OTOH, its better for smores on warm nights. If you want more heat, you can also make a DIY heat spreader from a big pizza pan like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU3WP7M or just use it as a cover.

For the money you can’t beat this! Make sure to have fire starters and get the fire rolling! Smokes at first like any other smokeless but when it’s rolling it doesn’t smoke at all! Gives off a ton of heat. I would highly recommend this pit to anyone!
