However, the tool has good reach and should be able to dislodge small, loose clogs not too far down just by pushing the length of cord in and out. You can see this is a good quality products though unfortunately it won't fit inside those sink drain parts to go down into the pipe and grab things even when closed. I wish they would make one with an extremely small end to go down the pipe and get out hair and things stuck blocking draining.

I bought this to retrieve a large plastic object that had been accidentally flushed down the toilet (the irrigation cover of a toilet bidet attachment that detached). I was quite dubious whether this would work, but as the alternative was either paying a plumber several hundred dollars to likely remove the toilet and retrieve the object from the toilet trapway, I thought it was worth a shot. It took a few attempts (and <3 minutes), but this grasper hook managed to retrieve the object! Not a scratch on the porcelain surface--the grasper hooks are well covered with a smooth metal coil that fully protects the porcelain until the hooks are deployed. I was incredibly impressed, and this will be handy to keep around for retrieving other objects lost down pipes or very narrow spaces. I haven't tried the plastic hair removal tool, but that may also come in handy. ... show more
