These boots were not cheap as far as the price, have not had them for whole months, and the zipper is broken wouldn't recommend these to anybody. Purchased these for work what a disappointment.

I love Dr Martins. As someone with arthritis in their feet they are one of the few shoes that once fully broken in do not hurt my feet at all. I wanted a taller pair of boots and had a brown pair that I wanted but then read they didn't fit larger calves. Thanks to ailments, I have one leg a little bigger than the other so I needed a boot that was more adjustable. These are great. I was able to get them on with the zipper and then lace them up. The laces even have a bit of elastic in them. I was not able to go all the way to the top with my laces (couldn't get to the top three holes) but I'm like that with my lower doc boots too. This does not affect how they feel when wearing them. These have been comfortable from the get-go and they're surprisingly lightweight especially considering their size. The leather is soft leather and it's pretty flexible. If you have larger calves and you're concerned if these will fit you should be OK. ... show more

I have a couple pairs of the Dr’s special (Molly, Max) and thus far these provide the most comfortable and feminine fit - I ain’t draggin my feet. Prob won’t need inserts. The leather is a higher quality than the others that feel more plastic-e. I wear a 9.5 and bought a 9.
