Expensive but great quality 4K blu-ray player…plays all regions…to play North American blu-rays open tray and press 1 on remote then insert disc…for discs from Europe press 2…from Asia press 3… should stay on your last setting so if you put in another disc and it says wrong region then take out disc and press button for correct region… service was great and fast coming from States to Canada….Great player if you are a movie buff like me, but very expensive! ... show more

    • It is region free but you have to set it. Instructions included.
This does work! To switch between different regions: (first) Power on player (second) open disc tray (third) on remote press 1 for Region A, 2 for region B, 3 for Region C. The LCD screen on the player will confirm and indicate the Region setting. Load disc on tray and press Play. All good. Works great, resolution upconverts for DVDs and sound quality is excellent. Very happy with the player and it's definitely worth the purchase to me. I'd recommend this player and seller. ... show more

When turning on the unit, it displays “Welcome”. Then four seconds later, “Reading”, followed by “Please Wait” which feels endless. Once the unit runs through its processes, the 4K Blu-Ray’s menu pops up. Press play, and here we go. I watch Oblivion. Picture quality was excellent, sound was also great via the Dolby Atmos codec. Concerns. This unit was manufactured back in June of 2019. That is seven years ago. The apps are becoming unusable due to version changes. Plays .mkv video, but not compatible with the .mkv audio container. Picture, but no sound. Recognizing the USB HDD is also an issue. After a year’s time of use, parts begin to break down. For instance, the disc loader begins to fail, 4K Disc becomes unreadable, in addition to getting stuck in the player. Panasonic is aware of these issues, but do nothing to rectify the problems. Don’t count on support. They charge you for the phone call, and request you ship it to them at cost even though the unit is still under warranty. Panasonic has transferred their Home appliance devision to a company in China. Panasonic is leaving the Home Electronics industry as a whole and moving onto larger things. Software, auto rechargeable batteries. Just google. Inflated price. Taking into account the age and lack of workmanship that went into the unit, the price has doubled here on amazon. Compare it to your local electronics store, or perform a google search. ... show more

Great picture and sound but can only be controlled by the remote? Extremely poor engineering decision for sure!
