Complete package of hardware and software - great value!
I’ve been very happy with the ease of use and image quality from my Doxie scanner! I use it probably only every two months or so at home but so far over the past 9 months this has been a great addition to my home office desk setup. It’s lightweight and compact so I’m able to pack it into the desk drawer in between uses. It works very easily on my Windows 11 laptop with the software from Doxie which has actually been better than expected for me since I can easily combine and stitch scans together. That actually has made it easy to navigate when I’m doing larger scanning of older packets of documents that I just need to save electronically so I can reduce paper bulk around here. Easily stop and go and not lose any progress worrying about all the papers needing to go through continuously. Also seems easy to be able to fill the feeder, let some scanning go through, and then when it’s done if I’m ready I can place another stack in quickly and it just starts up and keeps going in the same run. I’ve had a couple of jams here and there mostly where it pulls two or more pages at once. But I do think has been when either I’m overfilling the feeder or have different sized papers in a stack and they’re too stuffed in there because didn’t count them or whatever. All together this scanner and software at this price is a way better value than I originally expected. Now I’m getting a case for the scanner which I’ve been looking forward to and I think will help me feel more organized at my desk in between jobs. Worth The Price
While a lot of things are paperless these days, some things aren't and having a document scanner around is quite useful. This one has pretty good quality. It's kind of annoying that there's no official Linux version of the software - something I think there will be a growing demand for. However, most people who take the plunge know what they're getting into, and that it would probably be a good idea to have a solution for compatibility issues like that. As someone who doesn't have to scan documents all the time, I appreciate how compact it is, and how easy it is to store and use. I couldn't imagine the headache it would be if setting this up and using it were complicated, because I only use the thing about once or twice a year. It also works fast. It can scan a couple pages worth of documents in seconds, and then you're on your way. I was also pleasantly surprised that you can scan both sides of a document simultaneously. The perfect little scanner that I didn't realize I was missing.
I was looking for a portable scanner for my office. I've had more expensive scanners provided by my employer, but they are not portable at all. I was told to take a picture with my phone. Nah, that's not so great. So I was looking for something that was in my budget and met my criteria. I found the Doxie Pro on Amazon. I got it on sale so it was a good value for the money. It was easy to set up. I've used it primarily for scanning in work documents and business cards. It works great. I actually keep it in my drawer until I need it, so it does not take up any desk space. I also take it on the road when working with clients and scan documents on the fly. It's super versatile. Well worth it
I have had the Doxie Pro scanner for about a month now and love it. LOTS OF PROS I use it to scan receipts for my business. Setup was a breeze. It's practically a plug and play scanner. It can do everything from crumpled gas receipts that have been folded and stuffed in a wallet to full size sheets of paper. I do uncrumple the messy receipts.. lol. If I have a very long receipt (think Lowe's) there is an option to press CTRL on the computer to let Doxie know and it will continue to scan it. A few times it has gotten jammed with particularly rough receipts and the machine is extremely easy to pop open from the top and remove the receipt (without further damage to the receipt) to rescan. You are able to scan the back and front of documents or choose to only scan one side. The doxie app on my computer will automatically adjust the document for clarity, size, etc. However, it will let me edit the document to crop it, choose color or black and white, other options and make sure I can see it as clearly as possible. The app is easy to navigate and save to my computer. There is no searching through a billion options/ drop downs to find what I need to do. The only CON I can think of so far is I wish it was wireless. I do have to plug the cord into the HDMI outlet on my computer. It comes with a couple different cords, in case you need a different type of plug. Wireless and or bluetooth would be much easier so that I didn't have to plug it in and unplug it each time I needed it. ... show more

An improvement to their long line of great products!
I've been using Doxie scanners for about 10 years, scanning Receipts, important documents, archiving photos, etc. I needed this one due to several large scanning projects, and anticipating scanning in old educational resources that aren't digitized to use the OCR to digitize them easier. Pros: This scanner has performed to my expectations; is a small size, scanning is effortless, and can scan both sides fast. Occasionally it will jam, but it's easy enough to unjam it and complete the scan. I'd estimate that it jammed once every 300 pages; but would probably have done less had the scanned paper been in better shape. The software i've loved for years; the auto enhancements are generally pretty good, and are easy enough to change if need be. The OCR is excellent as well; one of the main reasons that i've stuck with Doxie for almost 10 years. Cons: -Being able to scan/save to SD card like their other products would have been a nice addition if you're not around a computer to be able to use it. -External battery; it plugs in, which is fine, but if paired with a SD slot, could make this a powerhouse if you're doing a project away from home/computer. -No Chromebook app yet; could be handy if there are no SD slots... ------- Overall, an amazing product to get if you're constantly doing multi-sided pages; this will save you COUNTLESS hours of having to turn the paper over compared to their other scanners. I will keep and use my old scanner as it's more portable and can save to a SD card; but have not used it in weeks now. ... show more

Scanning made it easy
My goal is to be able to reduce paperwork and photos clogging my closets and drawers. I made this purchase based on paper work/photos to digital. The scanner can only handle 5 photos at a time. Since this scanner is designed more for paper, I experienced jams several times with photos. The jams are easy to clear. Finally I only scanned 1-2 photos at a time. The machine scans any document/photo in a matter of seconds. The scanned image is clear and sharp. Each scan can be named by the user. The app downloads quickly, but takes time to understand all the features offered for the scanner. After delivery was confirmed I received 3 emails from Doxie. The first offered assistance with down loading the app. The second offered helped setting up the scanner to my Mac. The third asked if I was experiencing any problems with the scanner or app. After the third email I received a phone call from a Doxie Technician who wanted to know how the scanner was working to my needs. When I told him about the photo jams, he told me scanning photos was not a strong feature. But he shared some tips for using the scanner. Based on the price and quality of scans I am pleased with the product. I am disappointed with the photo scans because the advertisement stated it scans photos. If you are planning to scan a large quantity of photos, look elsewhere and confirm with the supplier if scanning and quality of the scan are strong features of the scanner. ... show more
