  • Great Pergola for the money. So Pretty! Great Pergola for the money. So Pretty!
Color: Gray Size: 12'×16'
This pergola was a great value for the money and beautiful as well. Great communication with the delivery people, they delivered to our backyard for easy assembly. Very sturdy, easy to put together (you will need 3-4 people at one point to assemble). The louvers are wonderful and easy to change as needed. Even though it is scary to spend $3,000 on Amazon for something unknown, we are so happy with our purchase! Buy it! ... show more

  • Beautiful 12x24 outdoor pergola Beautiful 12x24 outdoor pergola

LOVING our pergola! This is the best thing we've ever purchased. So happy we choose this where we can open the louvers and see the sky. We keep them open most of the time and all seasons long. When it gets cold or windy we close the drapes and light up our fire and it gets very cozy and warm inside. Very strong. It had no problem withstanding 70 mph winds. Can't say enough about this. ... show more

  • almost perfect, almost.
Color: Gray Size: 10'×13'
Update: I figured out the louver situation. You can't overtighten the #10 screws that go into each louver on both sides and in the center of the roof. You actually don't need to fully tighten at all, it's better if the louvers have some slack for the lateral movement. Only after I loosened every single louver screw the roof started to snap shut. The manual should mention it. Anyway, I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Great product, easy to follow instructions. The only downside is the roof louvers don't close flush on the center beam (the side without the ratcheting mechanism). There is a lot of tension and if I push on the linking bar it snaps shut, however after opening/closing the louvers it needs the push again. I've assembled it according to the manual, etc, the side with the mechanism closes fully, the other side leaves a 1/4 inch (4-5mm) gap... ... show more

  • Nice looking and fairly watertight, but I’ll cover cushions.
Color: Brown Size: 10'×13'
The brown color is nice. the extra mosquito curtains AND privacy curtains (for us to block the sun, not neighbors) is great. We did have footings poured per our city code requirements, but its very light at 333 lbs - another reason to affix to the footings with longer bolts because our Santa Ana winds can move furniture. Added solar cafe string lights (tucked solar panel into curtain tie back), and used only 4 zip ties. For the price it gives us some shade (or filtered light) near the pool. I would like it to be taller, so it would fit closer to house, but it gives a cozy vibe. A custom built version attached to house would have cost 25k-40k. ... show more

This thing is righteous! I anchored it into the cement, and it is strong! Definitely holding up well during the monsoons of justice. The roof is easy to open/close, and the shades are easy to use. 12' x 20' goes a long way in making our backyard our little oasis in the desert. Works great for all outdoor grilling/smoking activities and eating, chilling, whatever. It's just awesome. ... show more

  • Solid pergola at a good price. Though there are some minor issues. Solid pergola at a good price. Though there are some minor issues.
Color: White Size: 10'×12'
I initially gave this four stars, but went with three. I’ll give more details below, but here’s an overview: I don’t like how the louvers close in different directions, some of the instructions for assembly were a little confusing, other instructions seem to be out of order, the caulk that was provided was the wrong color, and finally there were no instructions on how to anchor this to the ground or to a structure. I had to email Domi to get that information. The caulk color issue, differ louver directions, and no anchoring instructions are the main reasons why I gave this a three. First things first, to save you time here are a couple tips for assembly: 1) The instructions were in box 3... I think. I wrote it down and lost the post-it note. Don’t start looking for instructions in box #1, start with a middle number and go from there 2) Use better tools than what’s provided. Buy a hex key/Allen wrench screw driver set, it’ll be a big help. If you use a drill/screw gun with a bit, it’ll be tough to get into the tight spaces and easily strip the screws, so I only used the power drill for the louvers (more on that later) 3) I’d recommend waiting to do step 10 until after you do step 19 (write a reminder to come back to it). This is because the cap that’s installed in step 10 makes it difficult to insert the screws needed for step 19 (see the picture) 4) Before step 21 (lifting the roof onto the posts) use a drill bit to make the screw holes for the louvers (step 25) bigger. Don’t go much bigger, just a hair. The original predrilled holes were very tight for the screws and it was easy to strip the screw heads. Also, I used a power drill/screw gun to put the louvers on because hand screwing 104 screws would take forever. If you do this, be careful: the screws are cheap and the heads strip very easily 5) Step 21 requires three people and three step ladders or chairs. Two people can lift it; however, aligning onto the posts is difficult. It’s easier to set the roof into the posts after the posts are anchored down; however, you will likely need to adjust the post location of the posts after putting the roof on. So, you need three people to lift, then two of them will support it up while a third slides the posts on. This step actually goes pretty quick. Our friend was here for less than 15 min, and that included a few minutes of joking around. I'll repeat: that step cannot be done with one person unless you have a rig of some sort to lift it. It can be done with two people, but will still be tough to align onto the posts 6) the caulking that was provided was gray, and our pergola was white. I had to go to the store to get different caulk. 7) Allow a full day Pro tip: Some pages have multiple steps on them. Check or "X" the steps off as you do them. It sounds simple; however, there’s a lot going on during assembly and it’s easy to overlook a step that’s tucked into the middle of a page. This is especially the case if the weather is on/off drizzly and breezy and blowing the pages around… don’t ask how I know… 😉 That said, on to the review: I shopped around for pergolas and narrowed it down to a couple brands. I needed a specific dimension for my needs, and it wasn’t easy to find. I almost went with a Pergolux because the rails can be cut to length; however, six grand was a big chunk of money. A friend had Domi and liked it, so I bought this one. Delivery was fast, it arrived within a couple days. All the boxes were in good shape except for one, which looked like it took a nick from a forklift. The box was for the louvers, and did ding one of them but it was minor and overall ok. Afterwards, we saw there was an extra louver so I could have used that. Speaking of extras, we had a lot of extra screws/fasteners. They say this can be assembled in a few hours with a few people. I define "few hours" as 3 or 4. I find this hard to believe. I’m pretty handy and am good at assembling things. If you have the space (on a large patio or in the yard) and aren’t tripping over each other, and have a system or a “flow”, then this goes faster. But we didn’t have the space (this fit perfectly into a spot on our deck). So my spouse handed me the screws, helped retrieved the parts, and helped move things along that way. I found it particularly helpful to lay out all the parts in order of letter, then all the different screws in little bowls to keep them organized. Regarding timing, step 19 took forever because there just wasn’t a lot of room to get into the space. This might be an example of multiple CAD design teams designing different sections and not communicating well. The tight space to get the screws in was infuriating. This is why I recommended above to wait to put on the cap. The louvers alone took about an hour, and that was with a screw gun, pre drilling the holes to make them bigger, and someone handing me each one and the screws. Some of our louvers were a little warped, but I think we averaged screwing one in every minute. There were a couple that took two minutes or so to get aligned. So, even if all the louvers were perfect the louvers still take an hour. So, Domi saying this can be assembled in a few hours is wrong. Even with assembly experience, I made an error and skipped step 12 and didn’t notice until the roof was already mounted on the posts. I had to call my friends to hel take it down. This held me up 30 min. Even with that, I think people should “budget” 4 - 5 hours for this project. It took me longer because I’m meticulous with these things to a fault and make sure everything is super tightened and aligned, etc. We were putting this on an elevated deck so wanted to make sure everything was very secure. Also, I tend to make things a little more difficult than they need to be, which adds time. ~ ~ ~ NOTE: There were no instructions about mounting the pergola to the ground or structure. I emailed Domi and received a response fairly quickly, within a day or two (in addition to the model, they wanted the order number). I had to shore up between the deck joists to create an anchor. I knew I had to do this ahead of time so won’t criticize Domi’s “few hours” estimate on that detail. However, the instructions don’t tell you when to fasten the posts down. This is a crucial step because even though the pergola weighs 300 pounds, there can be a lot of lift during even a moderate storm. I really enjoy the sense of humor somebody had for the instructions on the box for the caulk. Even though the caulk was the wrong color, I like how it clarified that you should avoid breathing in too much steam or children. Overall I like this pergola. It’s been five months and it's allowed us to use the deck like another room of the house. We have a Costco fire table and with the curtains closed and louvers partially closed the heat is held and we're using it well into the colder season. That said, I’ve noticed a few things I wish I could change: 1) The two sets of louvers don’t close in the same direction… What the heck? Maybe it’s too soon to see the rationale; however, given the direction this faces and where the sun is, I wish both sets angled in the same direction 2) The mosquito netting and curtains close by zippering from the top down. I’m 5’ 9” on a good day, so reaching up to zipper is awkward. Plus, anytime someone is coming in/out, they need to unzipper and rezipper. Some snaps or velcro would go a long way. I might try to retrofit magnets or or Velcro strips or something to close them when we use them 3) I wish I could choose what direction the drain at the bottom of the posts face. They’re all premanufactured, and all face the same way. So, puddles of rain build up where we sit and enter/exit 4) An observation about the rain system is that the gutters aren’t sloped. If the pergola is level (and, it should be), then the gutters are flat. They can develop puddles in them that become a haven for mosquitoes. 5) Finally, and I’m in disbelief this isn’t included given how Domi clearly tried to think of everything: there is no collar or cover or anything to cover the flange and bolts on the base to dress them up a bit. A collar would be a very nice finishing touch. With all the above said, I’m happy with this purchase: the price is right and is a great value, it is easy to use, and provides plenty of shade doesn’t leak in the rain. I love the white, as it looks less imposing on our deck. It may require more cleaning, and may show scratches, but we’ll deal with those later. ... show more

We set up the pagola in 4 hours with 3 people. It was easy to follow the instructions. The material is good quality and looks as in the pictures. Had some issues with the freight company delivery, but the customer service was very helpful and solved everything. One recommendation for the curtain, the attachment line that fixes it is very weak and ripped off after two nights with only a bit wind. I made some grommets in the bottom to fix it to the post. ... show more
