On our garage we have double doors 10.5 high. They are made with metal fire doors but covered in woodgrain Masonite siding to appear to be wooden and to match the garage doors to either side. We have never found handles that looked right on the doors until we tried these. They are perfect, at least IMHO. The plan is to pass stainless screws all the was through the doors and bolt a handle on both outside and the inside. It will take 4 handles to do both doors. At the rear of the building, there is a 7 foot high, 8 foot wide double high security metal fire door. Only one side is used, with the other side latched to the frame and only opened to pass large machinery or car components on a rotisserie. We will put these handles on the door we usually use with a key difference. The handles will be attached to the sheet metal of the door with self-tapping screws. The inside will be firmly attached, but the outside handle will be attached with the smallest, shortest screws that will allow us open the door when it is unlocked. One of the security features is that doors open outwards. It makes it next to impossible to push the doors in during a break-in, especially with reinforced frame anchored in concrete. If the handle on the outside was firmly attached, it would give someone a place to attach a rope or cable to pull the door open. Using little screws means that a good tug will pull the handle off rather than pull the door open. It will take 2 handles to do one door. Handles like these, purchased as singles would very costly. The selling price of all 6 handles here come to about 1/3 of what it would cost to special order very similar handles from the local building supply. I gave these 5 stars. They are what I had envisioned to fit in with our old barn theme of our garage. PS Staring at the bars laid out like a ladder, I had an epiphany. I have a wheel from a freight car that was used for the manual brakes. These bars look just like the ladder on the end of a freight car. We had considered adding a ladder made of bars like this on my grandson’s ever growing playhouse. Tack up a sheet of corrugated roofing, add these bars as a climbable ladder, put the wheel from the freight car on a bolt so it can be spun, add a few pieces of conduit, and suddenly he would have a railroad car to play with. Much safer than what I did as a kid, ending up two states away.

These are super duty hand holds which can clearly handle much more than the 350 pounds advertised ! Perhaps that limit was based on the smaller screws shown, but I'd never use anything less than the biggest lag bolt I can fit into something like this, and if we do projects, we always use the best fasteners for the job The welds are perfect and these are just perfectly sized and solid steel which I will be using for handholds by the front steps, the toughest gate pull ever built, a handle to help get out of that chair which is too low.... or possibly even for the swing set which is what they are showing it for. The functionality of these holds is limitless and are a super value for the money for sure Easy to install ? - yeah, it's just 2 bolts to install them, just make sure you hit a good stud or if your going into that wood swing set its all a good stud so.. even easier I can't stress the extremely awesome functionality of these enough - great feel to them as well !

These are nice metal handles! My husband actually wanted to use these as a ladder for our playground, which they work well as. We may order a second set for that as well. As it is they work great next to our rope net and next to the climbing wall. Super simple to install into the wood hand built playground we have.

These safety handles are quite strong and the finish is smooth. Visually, I think they are nice enough to use for a variety of uses including as interior/exterior door handles. My backyard is in a heavily wood area and I am in the process of modifying natural structures that my granddaughter can use for climbing, balancing, etc. Some are placed on standing trees, for example, and on vertically stacked lengths of logs that are 20 inches each in diameter. Having these handles definitely provides an extra level of safety and I trust their quality to last a long while in the elements. With 6 to the set, I think they are a very good value.

These bars are well made and look great, but with only one mounting hole on each side, they are not fit for in-house grab bars. Fortunately they are not advertised that way, but worth noting. With a good size bolt, they will work great as a door handle, which is how I am using them, or on a play set for kids. It’s nice that the base plates are solid, no holes, to avoid water getting in the tubing to rust. Overall, if used as advertised, these are a great buy!

I installed these safety handles on my backyard playset. The 17-inch length provides a comfortable grip for both my kids and adults - my 8-year-old can easily grab them for climbing, and I’ve used them myself to steady the structure while supervising. Assembly was straightforward, though I recommend pre-drilling holes to avoid wood splitting. The included screws worked fine for my pressure-treated lumber, but for extra security, I swapped them for thicker lag bolts on the high-traffic rungs.
