I was somewhat disappointed when i first received this tool because, at this hefty price tag, i had anticipated a pretty decent carrying case. Forget about that right now. This is a very cheap case that has been very poorly designed. The hasps are incredibly cheap and just flop around, too. I think this is a shame as the case is the first thing any customer encounters the product. And it shows poorly. In actual fact, this is a decent grinder but is way overpriced in the current market at 110 bucks. You could find similar quality for 30 bucks less, or more. One more ding on the case....i was stunned to find that, after using it, you can't just put it back in the case and pack away. No, you have to unscrew the guard (no, it's NOT a quick release) and then everything just flops around in place (or not). Incredibly poor design. After that negative first impact, the rest is pretty good. The grinder is actually a 5 inch disc capacity tool. I was impressed with that, since it can use 4 1/2 inch, too. That's excellent flexibility. On using the grinder, it feels like it has good power, although i would have liked a little more speed. This one's top speed is 8,500 rpm, whereas some go to 10,000 rpm. However, higher speed usually means lower battery life, so that's a personal choice. Since i will generally used a 110v powered grinder, this one will only get occasional use. On some positive notes, this set gives you two batteries AND a slot-in full size charger. I don't like those small psu plug-in chargers. And on the battery power, of course these are high power-draw tools and can't be used for extended periods unless you have plenty of batteries. On that point, i am not sure if other manufacturer's batteries will fit this grinder....possibly Makita? I don't want to blow up the tool by just trying, without being sure first. I don't see any spare batteries available separately, from their storefront, either. All in all, this is a decent grinder that is let down by being way overpriced and some cheap ancillary parts. That's unfortunate, but it's still a decent grinder.

I got this just in time since the blades on my cordless electric mower were very dull and were hacking the grass. This bad boy made very short work of sharpening those blades. It took about 2 minutes to sharpen 4 cutting surfaces on two blades. This tool looks and feels very substantial. It's comfortable to hold and comes with an assortment of cutting wheels for different uses. This is a very complete kit which includes non-slip gloves and safety glasses. Be sure to use the glasses or another face shield because all grinders like this do shoot out sparks and bits of whatever you're grinding. I am very happy with this grinder. When the heat wave breaks I plan on using it to strip loose paint and rust from our Bilco basement door in preparation for painting. Only a couple of negatives. There's a protective shield that you should definitely install, but the grinder won't fit into the case with the shield attached. This is not a huge deal but it's annoying. It's attached using a nut and bold but my grinder was missing the nut. It's a common size and I easily found one that fit in my jar of random screws, nuts and bolts. It's somewhat a game of Tetris fitting all the parts back into the case without a photo reference. Once I figure it out I will label each of the compartments with a permanent metallic marker.

This tool is very nice. It comes with several discs and is cordless to make it easier to use. It is made of high quality materials and is easy to use. It comes with a carrying case that is helpful. It charges quickly and holds the charge for a long time. This is a cut above and is highly recommended.
