Below is my original review and have upgraded from 2 to 5 stars. Almost immediately after posting my 1st review, the seller contacted me, WANTING TO HELP!! They have an upgrade to this version and sent one to me free of charge. I received it in 2 days and there was an amazing difference. The supports are more narrow, there are more of them, and they're longer. It works perfectly! I'd give 10 stars just for their customer service if I could. They went above and beyond, very impressive! Service like this doesn’t happen often and I really appreciate it!! My measured my girl in 3 different positions to ensure I was purchasing the correct size. Her neck movement would be restricted, allowing her just enough flexibility to eat/drink while laying down, and would obviously not choke her. It was a moot point. The positives: In theory, this could have/should have been the solution to my girl's issues. It seems to be well made and of quality materials. She wore it comfortably. The negatives: The stiffener bars that are supposed to restrict movement are just barely over 1/2 of the width of the brace. She wore it comfortably because there is little to no restriction of movement!! I could have put a cheap, blow up, recovery donut around her neck that would have restricted her movements more than this. I purchased based on the high scoring reviews. Maybe I received a defective one? Either way, it's definitely being returned!

Buddy's neck received the essential support from the neoprene material, which was not only robust but also adaptable. This material also ensured a comfortable fit that did not restrict his movement or cause any irritation. This neck brace is capable of efficiently preventing Buddy from biting or licking at the injured area, which is a common problem that can frequently slow down the healing process. This is one of the most notable characteristics of this neck brace. Even during Buddy's more active moments, the brace remained securely in place thanks to the securely fastened Velcro closures and the strategically placed cushioned panels.

My dog is too smart for his own good, and loves causing chaos. There is no keeping things on or around him without him giving his best effort to destroy it. He had to have a lump removed from his neck, and even if it wouldn’t have irritated the wound/stitches to put a cone on him, he’s gotten out of those before. He was big mad, but in two weeks he wasn’t able to get it off by himself despite evidence of trying (I came home from work one day and he’d gotten about half an inch of the Velcro undone, but there was more than enough to still keep it on). The brace was a little short for his neck, so it could move up and down a little, but he’s healed very well and the stitches never got caught or snagged that I noticed.

I purchased two of these in hopes that they would be functional alternatives to a cone after surgery, unfortunately the brace was not sturdy enough to limit cervical mobility in any fashion.
