I've used this for squats several times now and I'm very pleased. I don't like the bar directly on my shoulders or neck. I can do it but it just doesn't feel great. I purchased this particular design because of the hook and loop cover it has. Most of the other styles had separate bands that had to be wrapped around the pad to keep it on the bar. I already have to carry the pad into the gym and didn't want additional fuss. I wasn't sure at first if the pad would be the stiffer neoprene or the foam used in older types of bar pads. This one seems to be a semi-firm neoprene. You cannot see it because it has the nicely stitched cover but it definitely doesn't feel like the cheap foam ones do. I would definitely buy this again; however, this seems pretty well made and that will probable be a long time from now. ... show more
