  • An LED Light Bulb…A Bright Idea!
Color: Daylight Size: 5 Inch- 6 Count
Review of a Superior Product: E26 LED Bulb 6W Equal 60 Watt Light Bulbs Daylight 5000K E26 Edison Bulb AC120V 750lm Dimmable 5 Inch Long Tubular T10 LED Bulb for Rustic Pendant, Chandeliers, Wall Sconces, Pack of 6 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This LED is a particular size for our inside lamps and for a recent purchase of a pole lamp for outdoors. Because I had the privilege and opportunity to review the light bulbs, I explored the difference between LED and incandescent bulbs. To be fair to the seller, Amazon, myself, and you, I studied references regarding the bulbs for an unbiased comparison. I researched the what, why, and when answering what you may ask as I would. What Can You Say About a Lightbulb? Well, surprisingly, there’s much to say. Let me share what I have learned for those who do not know what an LED lightbulb is versus an incandescent bulb. Why Use LED…In today’s market, LEDs last longer than any commercial light source. The lifespan of an LED bulb is usually between 25,000 and 200,000 hours, compared to incandescent lights, which provide approximately only 1,200 hours… This is considered the worst lifespan on the market for any bulb. Are The Bulbs Interchangeable? According to the resources I found on Google, yes, it is safe to use LED bulbs in most fixtures, but you must check to be sure that the fixture has the correct base and enough space surrounding the bulb to successfully disperse the heat. Should we replace incandescent bulbs with LED? Our environmental goals today are to save energy and conserve resources, so the answer is yes. If the trade-out is financially acceptable to your budget, it is favored. Discarding an incandescent bulb early with an LED will save a lot of electricity. What are the positives of using LED lights? The LED light bulbs have the longest life span of any other Conserving energy is more efficient-80% more. Produce less heat. Are there downsides to the LED lights? The expense of switching early It has been established that it does not work well with dimmers. Although there are LED dimmable bulbs. However, “you will have to find the switch that is specifically compatible with LED bulbs.” (Google source) They can fail under heat. These are only a few of the pros and cons found on Google. Aside from these reasons, the LED bulb looks rather intriguing! For further information, please consult the Department of Energy (DOE), Google, Bing, or any other reliable source to understand better your important role in conserving energy, beginning with the light bulb! I want to thank the seller, manufacturer, and Amazon for the opportunity to review these LED bulbs. We received them two days ago and have replaced most of our bulbs. They produce a softer light, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the trade-off. Attached photographs show the packaging is secure. The last photograph is our floor lamp with two different light bulbs. On the left is brighter and the one that is reviewed and the one on the right is our bulb we plan to switch out. There is an obvious contrast! You can make a difference! Mamie ... show more

  • Dims smoothly!
Color: Daylight Size: 5 Inch- 6 Count
The media could not be loaded. LED "string" bulbs like this one are fairly generic these days, except for one thing: dimming. Many simply don't dim smoothly. A point will be hit long before full dimming where a bulb will just cut off. Not these! See the video. This bulb dimmed smoothly down to the the point of barely being able to see the LED light - and then to fully off as the dimmer was rotated more. In the other direction, going up in brightness, notice how there was no sudden "jump" from off to the start of light, but rather a smooth increase in light from dim to full on. I like these! Just a note, regarding ANY LED light bulb, about "wattage equivalent" numbers vs. lumens. ALWAYS go by lumens AND the color temperature (shade of white) when comparing bulbs! The lumen rating is the actual light output. Those "wattage equivalent" statement are pure marketing. Wattage, of course, is the electrical consumption not the light output. I get a real laugh sometime seeing a LED bulb being marketed as equivalent to some wattage of incandescent, but then look at the lumens and it is actually the next "wattage" down of incandescent bulb. In the case an actual good old 60W bulb, they typically put out around 850 lumens for the 60 watts of electrical power they consumed, and produced a color temperature (that orange-ish light the old filament bulbs emitted) of around 2850K. In this case our bulb here is producing fewer lumens, BUT notice the color temperature is a higher 5000K, which is approximately the shade of white of natural sunlight outdoors, **which is turns out our eyes are more sensitive too in seeing**. Our eyes are most sensitive to green light, which sunlight has more of than the old incandescent bulbs in the spectrum. SO BOTTOM LINE, a 750 lumen LED bulb here at 5000K can actually appear about as bright to the eye as an old 60W 850 lumen 2850K bulb. I almost always buy 5000K bulbs, unless I am trying for a specific effect, like adding more "blue" to a dark paneled room, in which case a 6500K color temperature may be more appropriate. A few more bulb things: * An "E26" base is the normal one we are all used to on the old 60W incandescent bulbs. * CRI, the Color Rendering Index, is a measure of how accurate colors show up when hit with the light from the bulb. 90 and above is really good, as these things go. Fluorescent tubes have CRI ratings and finding a 90 or above can be tough. More common to find 70's or 80's. ... show more

  • Nice bright lighting for bath vanity
Color: Cool White Size: 7.3 Inch- 6 Count
I am using the Gozelux T10 LED Bulb in a vanity light that is designed with long tubular frosted glass shades. Each fixture has 2 shades. I have one fixture on each side of the mirror, so I using a total of 4 bulbs to light the vanity mirror. Using the 6W 4000K bulbs inside the frosted glass shades, the light output is bright, but not glaring. I traveled for the job for many years, and cannot count the times I hit a nice hotel room, only to find that the fancy lighting at the vanity mirror was one step short of dusk. I know the value of proper lighting at a vanity mirror, and these Gozelux 6W 4000K LED bulbs deliver a perfect balance high illumination without overpowering or glaring. The key for this balance is the higher brightness of the bulbs as they transmit through frosted glass. If one were to cast their illumination through clear glass shades, 4 of these bulbs at a 30" wide mirror would be too much. ... show more

  • They are DIMMABLE and DECORATIVE
Color: Daylight Size: 5 Inch- 6 Count
My LIving/Family room has a light fixture with four bulbs and 10 years ago I used to use incandescent. The problem was that after I made the switch to fluorescent and then to LED I lost the capability to dim the light, which can be annoying when watching movies. The most important feature of these lights is that they DIM, and that alone is great. The quality of light is great, I selected 5000K as most of my home lights. THe shape works also great as it looks kinda decorative too. I just hope they last as promised. Will get back to this review when they start to go. ... show more
