    • Exactly what I needed for Karaoke Nights
My wife wanted to be able to sing karaoke with friends at home. I looked at a bunch of options but most of them did not do exactly what I wanted for her, which was to be able to hear the voices through my sound system while playing lyric videos off of youtube on the TV. The cheap 20$ mics do not do this, and I didn't want to bring out some big speaker every time. With this device, I bring it out when needed. I connect audio from the TV to this device using the 3.5mm jack, and then I connect the device to my speaker system using optical out. This allows me to play youtube videos on the TV, and hear all audio including voices and youtube out of the speakers together with very minimal delay. The only downside is the quality of the mics. It's a little hard to get a good clear output from the mics. You need to sing in a very specific way, practically swallowing the mics. Not exactly ideal for a post COVID world. I may look into upgrading the mics if possible, but for now this will do great for us, and is a great option for the price ... show more

    • Well designed, very flexible system but...
This device works exactly as advertised. Gives you just about every conceivable connection option. Mixer function works well and wireless microphones connect immediately with no issue. That said, there is one significant caveat for those of us who have a fairly high end home theater setup. If you're looking for a setup where you can connect the karaoke mixer to your Smart TV and just switch on or off as needed, the proposed connection setup for a Smart TV will interfere with your TV's HDMI-ARC functionality. This mixer does not support Dolby Digital etc.. and they tell you that upfront. Of course, if you're willing to re-jigger your TV sound setup every time you want to sing, this will still work, but it'll be a hassle. The simples setup I would recommend is to connect your source (iPad, Phone or PC) to the karaoke mixer by Bluetooth, and then output the sound to any powered speaker with an optical cable. This will allow you to view the video portion on your device's screen (phone , iPad or PC) and get the best combined music + microphone sound from the connected speaker. At the $150 price point, this compares very favorably with any stand-alone karaoke system out there (which usually would run between $400-700). ... show more

    • Work great for karaoke
this device solves my problem. Play karaoke YouTube videos from iPad to tv and external speakers, not the poor quality speakers on the tv. With this device’s hdmi arc, the data can go both ways to/from the tv and the device. So we can play YouTube karaoke video on the new tv that supports hdmi arc. The sound will go to this device and go from the device to my external speakers. When used with old tvs that do not support hdmi arc, we can play YouTube videos on iPad and connect to the device via Bluetooth. So we can do karaoke fine when we go on vacation and stay at places that have old TV. The microphones are ok. The device can accept better microphones via cable input. ... show more

Pros: Like many others I was looking for quick setup with smart TV and soundbar and it works for me… HDMI erc from TV to karakoke and then optical output to soundbar… very easy and straightforward setup and sound quality is very good. Cons: It needs to be powered on to watch TV now… it would be perfect if it had a remote to power on/off. Mics don't have a stand so it is hard to store them… each mic uses 2 AA battery and it could have a rechargeable battery with stand. ... show more

Easy to set up, but there is a sound delay from the mic end. If you're karaoking any type of fast paced song, like rap, you will notice the delay.

    • Works with my 5.1 surround sound!
I know it says it won't work with 5.1 surround sound but I got mine to. I used an optical card to plug in from my receive to the mixer, plugged the arc up, and paired to my tablet and boom! Sounds so amazing. I will say that we went through the batteries in about 2 hours. That's the only complaint I have and the reason for a 4 star review. I dad has mics that easily last 4 hours, maybe even 6. ... show more

    • Very Easy to Setup and Use
Very easy to setup by following the simple instructions in the User Manual. Equally simple to adjust and operate. Sound quality through my Yamaha receiver is excellent. Assuming it stands the test of time, I will be very pleased with this product and will recommend it to my friends and family.
