I cooked the Christmas Eve turkey this year. I had 1 probe in the breast and 1 probe in the thigh. It was one of the juiciest turkeys I’ve ever had. This thermometer has really increased my cooking ability. I use it when I’m smoking meats and frying fish. It works really well.

I used this for the first time this Thanksgiving and it worked perfectly! I love using the temperature function to make sure I get the best results and this did not disappoint. I have been looking at the bluetooth models, but when you do high temps (reverse searing) I worry that the high heat will cause issues. I like the fact there is the remote and the ability to do two different settings in case you need to do separate pieces of meat. Enjoy ... show more

Its inexpensive because you get what you pay for. I just use it for the bluetooth temp readings. I use the Traeger and Thermo gauge for more accurate closer to the end cooking.

I slow cooked two Boston Butts on my pellet grill. One weighed a little over 5 pounds and the other weighed slightly over 3 pounds. Being able to get accurate temperature readings on each allowed me to remove the lighter Butt about 45 minutes before the larger was done.

The probes consistently read 3-7 degrees higher than my other thermometers which includes an IR thermometer and this other BBQ thermometer I included in the picture. The temperature also updates a little slowly--taking at least 10 seconds to register a temperature change. Other than that, it's nice to have a unit to monitor the temperatures that isn't Bluetooth and works from at least 30ft away. ... show more

Previous thermometer had only 1 probe and I learned that 2 probes is much more helpful to monitor the grill/smoker temperature as well as the meat. Especially important for low temperature smoking - 275 does not cook the same as 325 degrees, but most built-in grill thermometers are off by 50 degrees or more. This thermometer's two probes and wires seem to handle normal grill heat ok. Range on the remote readout seems good, reads reliably from my backyard to garage, maybe 100-150 ft. through the house. Previously I tried a bluetooth thermometer that used an app for my phone, but the app was a pain and required my location (and was probably stealing my data), then stopped working right. It is better to have a dedicated readout device; 10 years from now my phone and thermometer app will be long gone, but this thermometer with dedicated remote may still be working. ... show more
