My DVD player arrived yesterday and tried it out immediately and I am very happy with the quality of the picture. I had to set the sound level on the DVD player at 100 so I could just worry about the TV remote adjusting volume to the level I wanted. It was very easy to set up and came with an HDMI cable so I had not complaints. They do not include 2-AAA batteries so you'll need to supply those. The small size of the DVD player is great too so it can be portable or space saving in your TV stand. So far though... I'm a happy camper! ... show more

    • Cannot use AV for Blu Ray
A little disappointed that I can't play Blu Rays with AV, since this is the sole reason I bought this particular unit. I have a CRT setup so I have to use an external adapter. Otherwise it plays perfectly fine with no issue.

    • Slow to respond, painful to use - do NOT recommend
This seems to me a piece of complete junk. It takes a LONG time to recognize the disk and to respond to very common commands like Play, Pause, and Stop. It didn't come with batteries for the remote, but even after I added my own (which thank goodness I had available and didn't have to go to a store to buy), it's obvious it heard my command but it spins a long time (routinely 15, 30, or even 60 seconds) to respond to commands. When it finally gets to playing the disk, it works OK, so it's not that the disk is unreadable. But if you pause for more than a short while, it goes into some sort of stop mode and you have go go through a sometimes-multi-minute startup phase for it to reacquaint itself with the disk and be ready for commands that each individually still take a long time. Or sometimes it spins awhile and just ends up not doing the command so you have to try again. It's completely preposterous to call this a proper product. I don't think my unit is defective. I get the sense it's just cheap parts and bad design. I would not recommend this to anyone. ... show more

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of this mini-dvd player, even with the favorable views. Mistakenly purchased a bluray dvd box set, and realized I had enough bluray dvd's to make a bluray player economical (vs. returning and buying the same yet more expensive non-bluray dvd box set). I purchased this particular brand, because it also plays regular dvd's. We had been using an Xbox 360 to play dvd's, which admittedly is getting old though it still works. This is a nice upgrade with a small footprint (it's at the bottom left of the tv in pic). ... show more
