Hopefully this review helps. I’m 5’9 165 lbs. usually I order a large when it comes to jackets that way I have enough room for a hoodie underneath. I purchased a medium this go around based on size reviews. I will say the medium is true to size. The jacket isn’t as big as I expected. With the medium you still have room for a lightweight hoodie or sweater. But if you wear bigger hoodies the medium jacket isn’t big enough. This is a great fitting jacket, works perfectly in the Northwestern coastal area I live in, good water repellence great for drizzly days, I'd want more coverage in a down pour situation, but this coat is very versatile.

I've been wearing these jackets for years in Interior Alaska. They are the perfect all around jacket, or an additional layer under coat, but they are not waterproof, water resistant, or anything of the sort. I bust out laughing when I saw this claim.

Bottom of jacket doesn't hug waist, ugly fit

I wanted a quality winter jacket that didn't cost an arm and a leg - can't go wrong at $28, some reviewers have bought it for less! (hopefully Amazon won't artificially raise the price on it like they do with a lot of other items...) I like this style and have a lot of respect for this brand. First off, the arms are LONG, about 27in on the Medium. For perspective, my arms from shoulder to wrist are about 24in. Judging by the images of the models it looks like smaller sizes may have shorter arms but I'm not sure. The arm length is by design since this IS a WORK jacket, the arms are supposed to be long. I have to fold the sleeves in a bit, which doesn't bother me. I'm a large female, 5'8, 40in hips. The back of the jacket covers almost half my bum (the front looks a little shorter), it cinches at the end, there's a waist band in the back. The M is snug on my hips without being too snug. I'm 41 in the chest - it's roomy up top but I'm not swimming in it. If I'd gotten a large I think I'd be swimming in it. A small probably would've been too snug for me. I wanted to layer this. It feels very warm, soft and comfortable on the inside - very nice lining. I've yet to wear it in freezing temps and will update when I do. I'm a bit disappointed that it's made in China... but overall, I'm happy with it. I know it can be tricky buying clothes online so anyone having serious doubts about sizing would be better off trying it on in store. I'll be checking out more Dickies coats in the future. This is an ok jacket for the price. I am 5' 10" and 160 pounds. After reading that the jacket ran big I decided to try the medium, and it was acceptable. I'm not really a slim fit or baggy type person. The chest and body had a comfortable relaxed fit.The bottom of the jacket came to the top of my belt line, which is an inch or two above where my other jackets are. The sleeves are foolishly baggy. I guess that is a traditional bomber jacket style though. It has a high waste with baggy arms. I read a persons review that said they didn't like the lining material but I thought I would take a chance. I would have to agree with the review. It feels like flimsy t-shirt material, which some people might like. To me, lining it with cheap t-shirt material kind of defeats the purpose of having a durable water repellent shell. I was expecting something like a rough flannel material, not stretchy and spongy cotton. I will admit I am being very picky and hyper critical here. However, I feel like there are too many companies making some very high quality products at an affordable price. Personally I can't stand the idea of being forced to sweat into a soggy cotton liner that needs to be washed out on a regular basis to get out the funk. My favorite part of my other nylon jackets is that I don't have to wash them unless something crazy happens to them. So, good job dickies for almost making a solid jacket at a fair price.
