Just like most of the other reviews say, this wobbles a lot. I'm 5'3 160lbs. I didn't expect it to be the sturdiest anyway when I read the reviews before I bought this. The instructions were clear but not all the pieces were labeled so that was a little annoying. I'd suggest getting pool noodles to cover the ladder as it does hurt your feet to climb up. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do. I have a small room, and this gives me way more space which is all I really cared about. ... show more

I am 5’01 and 110 lbs so the biggest challenge for me was just getting the box inside. I ended up opening it on my front porch and taking it out in pieces and hauling it upstairs to my sons room that way. Once Al the pieces were in the room to be assembled, I got to work on it by myself for roughly an hour and got a good majority of it done before I have to stop and wait for someone else to get home and assist me (forgot to mention I did this while 8 months pregnant so I really had to pace myself and not push my physical limits) Once my son (12) got home from school and he helped me to hold the pieces up to connect them and together we finished assembling the bed in roughly 2 more hours. A fair warning to watch your hands when assembling the mattress support areas cause it will pinch your skin if you aren’t careful. The last step of loading the mattress was completely by my husband when he got home as this was again outside of my scope of capabilities in my current state. Watch out for any ceiling fans when moving the mattress up, as it did knock my sons fan off track, which my husband had to fix. My son loves it so far tho, he plays his games on the desk below and says he sleeps better at night being closer to the fan. Only complaint he has is it is a bit wobbly when he moves around and the ladder is a little painful on his feet. We are thinking of adding some type of foam covers to cushion the ladder steps. ... show more

i built it myself, took 3 hours... the small hexagon L screwdriver gets rounder after ~20th screw and doesn't work properly and it made it difficult to assemble so make sure to have a second one handy. also it's sooo thin, hurt my hands. bed seems sturdy, i want to cover it with soft padded fabric so i won't hit my head because i'm clumsy. (pool noodles may be a good idea for those who want to try) the screw holes for the table were unmatched, i managed to put 3 but impossible for the rest... ... show more

My 15 year old son really likes this bed because he can have his own personal space while sharing the room with a 10 y/o. He likes that he can place his piano/keyboard on the desk/table and/or has his game system and TV set up as well. We both made sure of the weight restrictions. I don’t like that he moves around as he gets in and out of bed and the slates look like they are gonna bend with his weight. My son weighs 200 lbs and the weight limit is 300 lbs. This is a good buy for the buck. Sturdy enough, it does rock north-south. But little to none east-west. Holds a 200 - 240Lbs person comfortable enough. So we ordered this for out teenager and for now it works good. The assembly part was horrible it took my husband and I a few hrs to set it up. After we got it done realize that there where screws missing for the desk part. We were not about to take everything off and mail it back so we got a different screw and are making it work. Since it's by the wall you can't notice the imperfection. Sturdiness it's not the good I mean it holds my husband and kid up there but bed moves ALOT.
