The first cordless drill I bought, eons ago, had about one flea-power. The most powerful cordless drills that came later were like lifting a dumbbell. I splurged on this new brushless model because it's not only 2 pounds lighter, but exquisitely balanced instead of being front-heavy. The build quality is evident throughout. I haven't rated the battery life, because I've only had it a few days, but I expect it'll be terrific due to the advances in lithium-ion batteries. (FWIW, I also love my little Ryobi hex-drive Tec4, which is surprisingly powerful and yet another pound lighter than the new B&D!     • Nice, compact & powerful drill
I replaced a 10+ year old Dewalt drill with this one as the batteries were shot. I almost just replaced the batteries (with off-brand replacements since you can't get "real" ones anymore), but decided to get this drill instead. I love this one. It's about 2/3 the size of the old one, has a fabric case instead of the big rigid, plastic one I had, and is so much lighter and comfortable to use. And because the bag is flexible, I can store my drill bits and screw tips (etc.) in there so everything is all in one place, making it easy to "grab & go" when I need to fix something. It seems just as powerful, maybe even more. I've had it for a few months and only charged it once so the battery life seems excellent. I just use it to fix stuff around the house, so am not using it for a full-time job. But for my purposes, I can totally recommend this drill. ... show more

    • Great drill that does the job
I was PROHIBITED from touching ANY of my old man’s tools so I grew up unskilled in that area. Fast forward and I needed to hang a heavy object. The drill made it possible!

    • Great Portable Drill
This is a great, portable drill. Very powerful, light weight, easy to use. Chuck works well and fits into tight spaces. Two batteries a plus, in addition to the nice zipper case to hold very thing, including drill bits and various screw/nut driver bits. Not having to use an electric cord is so NICE!

The Dewalt drill is a Christmas present so I have can not evaluate this product. I have several 12 volt Dewalt tools so I suspect it will be a fine tool and gift. Steve

This drill is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact unit for home use. Battery life is long, and the drill has a lot of nice features. I particularly like the way it fits in my hand, which may be a matter of personal taste, but I suspect was a result of superior design.
