So far, I've only used this in mild steel, but that's my main use-case. It worked very well for the task and there's a countersink on the chuck end that will deburr, all without changing tools. Make sure you use oil while drilling and tapping.

Nice concept but unless you are able to hold the drill square to the work you are going to brake this off. I had a feeling this was going to be an issue so I was super careful, was able to get through 3 holes and on the 4th it caught and snapped it off. Using a drill press this would probably not be an issue. ... show more

    • Use with an impact driver like it says and these last forever!
Bought 6 thinking we would need to use a couple to put up 5 pieces of uni strut that was getting bolted into 10 gauge steel perlings and we use the first two we opened for more than 50 holes including drilling some into half inch steel they are amazing and well worth the money!

I’d like to start off by saying I have only used these bits while absolutely hammered , one bit had drilled over 480 holes without a single issue whatsoever even 30 beers deep leaning on the bits full throttle

    • Great but not durable
Used this while working at a rock climbing gym for rethreading t-nuts. Worked great at rethreading but it broke in half after about 10 uses. I’d recommend getting one but be gentle with a really bad tnut or use a low impact driver. For reference I was using a makita 18 volt impact driver when the bit broke. ... show more

Bit broke on a pre-drilled pilot hole through just 1/4” mild steel on second try. I was using a dewalt impact drill. Lubricated the bit with thread cutting paste. Not sure what else I could have done in an attempt to make it easier for the bit and decrease heat for it. If something seems too good to be true, it is. Don’t buy it. Period. ... show more

    • Saves time and effort
The bit works great. Saves a little time eliminating switching between tools. The only downside is that once you drill your hole and you move to the threads, if you aren't plumb and you're wailing away on the drill trigger, it's cutting anyway and you'll have a crooked hole. Works great on 11 gauge steel and 1/4" plate. If you want to go thicker, it may be best to stick with manual taps. ... show more
