  • Great, powerful grinder.
Size: Standard Style: 20V MAX Cut-Off Tool
Amazing and convenient! We have always owned an electric grinder... for many years. We always thought it would be more powerful and would never "run out" of battery. We were happily surprised by how much power this battery powered grinder had!! It was able to complete our project, while using it all day long! We were cutting through rebar and thick metal horse fencing this time. I can't say enough about how nice it is to mot have a cord, and be constrained by WHERE we could use our grinder... it is freeing. ... show more

  • CORDLESS ALL THE WAY
Size: Standard Style: 20V MAX Cut-Off Tool
what you will hold in your hand is a grinder that is nothing short of the power it delivers comparing it to a corded tool. It spins @7000rpm; a bit slower than corded tool but it does not make much of a difference.(actually on some applications it is preferable a bit slower) it cuts, grinds, brushes through and on materials without mercy with pressure applied and no signs of slacking down....- for about 15 to 20 min. then the battery gives up on you...( hey- its a cordless tool) i think for 90% of all the work you perform with angle grinders it will give you the freedom not to to have look for a plug, find an extension cord, get tangled up in all your mess and find out at the end that you still short one foot to reach your workpiece. (sounds familiar) it will help to keep your blood pressure down. but if your work requires an extended usage ... stretch out the cord. unless you are like me(hardheaded/stubborn) and insist on to use this tool going all the way through (same for the hammer drill, saw) a third battery pack is needed (talking about the 20V-3.0amp) since it takes longer to charge the battery than what you have on running time available.[update 1.13.15 with the 5amp battery's it's not even a issue worth mentioning it] my short wishlist of improvements is a BELT CLIP (i'm missing it on my hammer drill since it is not supplied with it and i don't want to spend 10 bucks extra :( ) and variable speed or at least three settings. this would open this tool for a far wider range of applications. 11.24.14 i've been using this thing now for over a year on regular base. like every few days. i only can add that in regards to the quality of tools dewalt tops the list. still going strong this thing. ... show more

  • As advertised
Size: Standard Style: 20V MAX Cut-Off Tool
Works as it should. Slightly cheaper than the big box stores. For the price they could include at least one cutting wheel.

  • Does what it is supposed to do. Dewalt Quality.
Size: Standard Style: 20V MAX Cut-Off Tool
Works well. I have several corded angle grinders, but this one allows me to take it to places with out electricity and I don't have to drag along a generator.

  • Love the trigger switch!
Size: Standard Style: 20V MAX Cut-Off Tool
I got this version of the angle grinder because I didn't want the paddle switch version (tested that one in the store and didn't like it) or the slide switch version (better but too awkward to turn on and off). I'm really glad they made a trigger switch version like most electric tools. This way to turn the spinning on and off is really the most convenient way to go. The shield/guard is a bit tricky to operate. There is a small metal rocker level on it and depressing it will let you rotate the shield. You can also take it completely off but if you do it's a challenge to get it back on. It has to be aligned in a very specific way before it will go back on. The tool is pretty fast and I got some flap sanding disks and it really cleaned off rusty, crusty putty knives pretty quickly. I also tried using the flap sanders to strip off multiple layers of paint on an oak table, but even with the finest grit it was pretty aggressive and made some gouges (because the tool has to be tilted with respect to the surface to use it), so we went back to a belt sander and Dewalt palm sander. Even though those removed paint slower they didn't make gouges in the wood like the angle grinder did. The flap sanders are pretty durable but it I would use the really thin cut-off disks, I'd definitely wear eye protection, a leather apron, or heavy clothing because those disks can shatter and send sharp shards flying into you. With the flap sanding disks I used eye protection and a dust mask, and used it outdoors, because it generates a huge amount of dust. Overall, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS angle grinder style and brand. ... show more
