  • Lovely sound quality
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
I needed this microphone for teaching online, specified by my school. I was a little dubious at first but it sounds so much better than my gaming headset microphone. It seems to block out most background noises. It took less than 10 minutes to set up from the box and the stand is easily adjusted and seems sturdy ... show more

  • Great for $18 original price. Good for $49.
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
Love this microphone. Has no headphone jack for latency free monitoring as many other USB mics have but the sound quality is excellent with very little noise floor. Paid less than $18.00 but moments after I ordered the price went up to $49.00. Shame because I was going to order a few more. Even at $50 it's a good mic purchase for podcasters and video creators. Wouldn't suggest it for musicians though. The scissor arm is better than comparable mounts as it is less noisy and just as rigid. The clamp is beefier and less likely to bend. The included USB cable is ok but short and not insulated as well as others. Not a big deal for most users but I ordered a longer replacement with better insulation to reduce EMI from other equipment. Cable I purchased has braid over foil for maximum reflection of stay electromagnetic interference. It does have minimal pop filtration to reduce plosives and does a fair job past 6 inches. Any closer and you'll want to add a pop filter or wind screen. The mic mount is polymer and seems sturdy and well made but is proprietary to this mic. Use of the mic with standard mic stands will require the use of a 5/8 to 3/8 adapter which means the scissor arm won't work with most popular standard mic mounts without said adapter either. If you're looking for a quality mic at a great price I recommend this for the semi pro user without reservation. ... show more

  • Great Mic, the Arm/Boom Could Use Some Work
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
Sooooo, bought this a while back. It's a great mic. I have a clear voice now in chat over VoIP and the sound quality is pretty good. Overall, I'd say the mic is pretty good bang for your buck. I'll definitely be using this as a good entry level mic for getting into live streaming and video commentary. One note though, the only con I've found with this mic is the arm that's included for mounting the mic. The hardware is relatively cheap that holds the arm together. So if you add any additional hardware such as a shock mount, etc. Be prepared to take it apart and add your own screws and bolts, which is what I did. I actually broke the flimsy nob off the steel threaded bolt that holds the 2nd to last joint by the mic by accident. I ended up having to dig through a bunch of spare nuts and bolts I had to patch it back together. So, just be forewarned, the arm's a bit on the flimsy/cheap side. ... show more

  • LOVE this mic!
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
I will start off by saying that I have worked in music for MOST of my life. I have toured, done live venues and recording studios, and worked in visual media as well. So microphones are something I know very well. The name brand was the first thing that caught my eye, but I'd never heard of this mic before. Since podcasting is new territory, I wasn't sure that the same quality would be there, especially after reading LOTS of reviews talking about phantom power needs and USB interfacing. I am SO happy to be able to say that this mic worked like a dream. I simply unboxed it, put everything together, plugged it in, and started using it. All the parts seem to be very well-made and sturdy, especially the arm, which had received some bad reviews previously. The part that attaches it to the desk is great and seems like it will work for many years. I really like the sound quality. Having used more expensive mics on stage, I have to say that this mic has just the right "warmth"... not too bright, and not too bassy. I think it really represents my voice well, and if I ever need to replace this one, I will purchase the same thing again, if it's available. If not, then certainly another Marantz product. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to podcast with just a simple plug and play device. The only thing I would add would be a pop screen and the piece that reduces the noise. ... show more

  • Amazing for $19 (Update: Died within 2 years)
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
(Lasted for 2 years before failing) When this product was $19 it was an incredible deal. The sound quality of this microphone rivals those that are in the $500+ range. Literally no self noise and clear crisp vocals. Works perfect for gaming, streaming, voice overs and overall anything that requires a good mic. For $19 you get everything you need to start recording except a cheap pop filter which costs about $6 here on amazon. Overall this is top notch product. ... show more

  • Just wow!
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
For the price this setup is absolutely amazing. The sound quality of the microphone is so crystal clear. I have it about 4 feet from me and added a pop filter to filter out the sound of my fan. Anyone I've gamed with so far says how fantastic and clear I am. Very happy with the purchase and the plug and play of it is so simple. Only complaint is the cord is only about 3 feet so it has to be put close to your tower but it's not a deal breaker. Overall i am completely satisfied. It sounds just as good if not better than my old Neumann microphone that cost over $300 that died last week. Any negative reviews on this are obviously from people being too rough with the boom arm or simply not knowing how to setup a USB component. If your on the fence about buying this hopefully your seeing this review and buy it. I promise you won't be sorry. ... show more

  • Punches above it's weight, good quality stand.
Style: USB Mic with Boom Arm
This mic sounds really good, I would compare it to my more expensive condenser mics. The plosive rejection is very good. The gain is not very high, so you will be stuck talking 6 inches away from the mic. It's only 16-bit, which kind of sucks when combined with the low gain, but if you talk right into the mic it's fine for live streaming as you will only be able to output 16-bit audio. If you need more gain to put the mic farther away on your desk you want an unpowered video mic like the Movo VXR10 or Rode VideoMicro with a good mic preamp; Apple products and gaming laptops have good preamps, also try the Sound Blaster G3 or Play! 3 or Play! 4 or Asus AI Noise Canceling Noise Adapter. Small diaphragm mics are better at a distance than large diaphragm due to the physics of the power of sound dissipating in cubic. ... show more
