use the hex key in one of the blade retainer flange holes

This is a just opened the box review. I have not put the grinder to use yet. Like Many other folks here I was baffled why a Hex key was included and not a pin or spanner for the retainer flange. I will update as I use it. But I have numerous comments now. 1) I hate being FORCED to sign up to a website to register a tool and hate how much added info they demand. 2) I had to make 4 tries to register the product - the website doesn't work right. 3) I figured out the hex key from reading Amazon reviews - the included instruction book is Crap - a lit of included parts and their used should be the first pages - I would send this to Dewalt but their website is too nosy. NOTE I dowloaded the online manual and a quick search found 5 references to and the use of the hex key. 4) I will reserve judgement on the utility of the hex key vs a normal pin spanner wrenc. I do wish there was provision for storing the key on the tool. Like some other brands do wi their spanner. 5) on product registration online - my tool does not seem to have a serial number or date code - very confusing on registration. 6) as a left hander I think the switch is in the wrong place. Glad I can rotate the gear case or I would have to send it back. 7) I LOVE the simple guard rotation / removal system. 8) The switch seems easier to lock on and release than another brand of grinder I had - I look forward to that. 9) the shaft lock seems very handy compared to other brands. All for now. (10) one last item - I can't believe Amazon posts that video in the product info at the top - the guy has no ear protection, marginal - doubtful eye protection - surely there is a better video out there - one that even shows the use of the hex key.

poor witting of user manual

once again the person who wrote the user manual did a very poor job. The person use type this ansd type that but never say what the type is. This is just one problem I have with this person. There are many more errors like this through out the manual So kids try rewriting and this time have a person like me. a person who does not know all ur technical terms read it and try to use it. I found 33 of these errors in the manual. Yes I could look all 33 of them up on line taking many hrs to do so but this would cost u $1000's in paying me to do so for my time cost $160/hr. So kids get it right and use people like me to help u do so for without us u will continue to make these errors which is just dumb to do. That is keep making the same errors over and over in all ur manuals.

The torque on this angle grinder is plenty strong enough for any job I assign it. Harbor Freight's offering makes my wrists ache. Not so, the DeWalt.

Dewalt makes solid tools

It's a Dewalt angle grinder with a few new features that my 25+ year old DW400, that just died after a healthy life, didn't have. Only gripe was the top switch that kept snapping off. New grinder has more RPMs, better cooling, side mount switch, and less vibration. What else can I say. We'll see how long this one lasts.
