  • Very impressed!
I bought this set for my father who is 87 years old. He grew weary of pulling cords to start his blower and chainsaw. I work in construction so I am no stranger to Dewalt tools, so I thought this would be good for him. A heavy storm caused a medium sized tree on my property to fall and it was a perfect chance to put the chainsaw to the test. To be honest, I really did not expect the chainsaw to function that well so I also took my gas powered chainsaw with me. I never had to use it. The Dewalt chainsaw cut through wood just like a gas powered saw. It did not bog down or slow down. Another storm caused a large tree to fall and I used the Dewalt again. The diameter of the tree was such that the 16 in bar would not go all the way through. This was a pecan tree with hard wood. It worked like a champ until the battery died, however that was some heavy cutting. The saw will handle this, but you might want to purchase an additional battery. The blower was also impressive.... slap the battery in and pull the trigger... it's just that simple. If you ever want to make the transition to battery powered tools you will not be disappointed. All battery powered tools are not equal, but Dewalt has a long history of making professional grade battery tools. If you are going to use battery powered tools often it is definitely worth it. ... show more

  • Great blower! Saw has good power, convenient to use but does keep leaking bar oil when you store it.
The blower is our go to for blowing out the garage and clearing leaves/sand off the driveway. The wife hated my gas blower and since we got this, she hasn’t picked up the electric blower. I really like the saw for convenience. Easy to use with good battery power. I don’t use it to clear small brush as the chain likes to jump off the bar fairly regular. I don’t have this issue cutting logs. With a sharp chain I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it cuts. Make sure to drain the oil tank before storing or the bar oil will continue to drip out. ... show more

  • This thing is a tornado!!!
The only complaint I have it its a little heavy but it makes up for it in power I'll never buy another gas powered blower again. Now when I say this thing is a tornado it is crazy strong. I used this to blow out my garage and I have a gravel driveway. So I blew all the dirt that has been stored since the construction of my garage into the driveway and began blowing around all the rock and gravel in my driveway. It was a very nice experience overall. There's a trigger lock that slides to provide the desired level of on you want from slight breeze to f5 tornado. The battery lasts a hot minute also. It wouldn't hurt to have a second because once you start using this your gonna have some fun. Now the noise level this puts out is definitely manageable in a enclosed space. It's loud enough that people will know your working but quite enought that you won't blowout your ear drums if you would go full blast in a small room. The last part I really enjoyed about the leaf blower is the 2 end attachments it comes with a flat and a cone. They both have their purpose and its a very nice touch that they are included with the price of the blower. I haven't used the chainsaw yet ... show more

  • Chainsaw Died- Sparks and Smoke
Upon receiving the saw and using it to cut through a few 6-8" branches I was pleasantly surprised by the power it had, the 9AH battery held up surprisingly long. It feels good in the hand and cut confidently through the maple tree branches in my yard... for the first couple of hours. On the second battery the saw suddenly slowed down, then sparks emerged from the motor housing followed by a cloud of acrid smoke. The seller(CPO Outlets) was supportive and sent a replacement item. Thinking perhaps I had received a one-off item of poor quality I proceeded to finish cutting my firewood. After several more hours of use the same issue occurred. Now I am outside of the seller's warranty period and working with Dewalt on a warranty replacement. For the record: I have owned and recommended Dewalt tools since becoming a homeowner 15 years ago, and have gotten that many years of use from my collection of 18V tools, including through two major home renovation projects. I am careful and generally gentle with my tools, and have been really surprised by the ease with which this product self-destructs with no warning. Bottom Line: I strongly recommend not purchasing this chainsaw. ... show more

  • Solid chainsaw for electric
I think some of the people who had trouble out of the box might not know to check the guard to see if it is engaged or not. It won’t do anything if the guard has been engaged. That aside, I cut trees down every day and I live this thing. You need a solid collection of 60v batteries for run it like you would a gas chainsaw, but not needing to start it is a huge plus. I’ve never leaked oil and I’m unsure what some people complaining about plastic are talking about. Every chainsaw has plastic parts. It had worked great for me for a couple of years, and it’s done such a great job a recently bought another one so multiple people can be cutting. Couldn’t be more satisfied in a tool. ... show more
