  • Dewalt 20V Max String Trimmer Kit
This DEWALT 20V MAX String Trimmer Kit has been an excellent addition to my lawn tools. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and has plenty of power to tackle thick grass and weeds around the yard. The brushless motor runs smoothly and efficiently, and the battery life from the included 5Ah battery is impressive — I can finish my trimming without constantly worrying about recharging. I really like the variable speed control because it lets me save battery on lighter jobs while still having extra power when needed. The folded guard design also gives a wider cutting swath, making yard work faster and more efficient. Another big plus is how quiet and convenient it is compared to gas trimmers — no mixing fuel, no pull cords, and very little maintenance. It starts instantly every time with the push of a button. Overall, this trimmer delivers great performance, durability, and convenience. Highly recommend for homeowners looking for a reliable cordless trimmer! ... show more

  • Highly recommended
If you already have a DeWalt system, highly recommend recommended. Lightweight works very well. Keeps a good battery charge and handles thick weeds with ease.

  • Genuine DeWalt item by all appearances
I was a little skeptical since this was almost 100$ cheaper than local stores. Figured id give it a whirl. Appears to be genuine dewalt items. Assembled and ready to use now. Havent actually used it in the yard but tested in the shop.

  • Works great
I got my trimmer yesterday after 7 days. I assembled it, and charged the battery. THE GOOD: It is NOT bashful, plenty of power and cut grass and weeds without any problems. The controls are positioned very handy and easy to use. I like the folding bar that makes it easier to hang for storage. The battery pack appears compatible with my DeWalt drill. I was able to trim my whole yard with out having to advance the cutter string, Very tough stuff. I just ordered a 225 foot package of it and it will probably last me for years. Trimmer is very quiet when running, much quieter than my old cordless one. It is well balanced and by placing your arm on the battery case you can help with the balance. THE NOT SO GOOD: My first dislike came when I tried to read the manual. It is printed on very pore, cheap paper and organized very poorly. My eye site is not the best and I had to get my magnifying glass out to read it. I would suggest if you buy one is to go on line and google the trimmer and download and print it out. I was able to find a Youtube video that very good with much better instructions to replace the string and use the trimmer. All in all I am pleased with it and will more than likely buy other DeWalt yard tools. ... show more

  • Does the job with ease
I finally gave up on my old gas trimmer and it’s problems and went with this trimmer. I’ve been very happy with my Dewalt cordless tools at work so I bought a leaf blower last year. It’s worked great for what I’ve needed for so I looked into this trimmer. The batteries are interchangeable so that’s why I checked this one out. I watched a video review and liked what I saw so I purchased without comparing to others. It was about $15 more at Home Depot and since their customer service sucks I saved the money and ordered here. I’m very happy with the power of this trimmer. It cut through some decently thick grass with ease. The battery life lasted me just as long as I needed it on my 1/2 acre or so lot. It only started to slow at the end but was still cutting the grass easily. For $200 after taxes I think this is a hell of a deal. My only negative is the head is heavier than the battery end so it did wear a little on my shoulders and wrist since there is no strap to help balance the weight out. I’ll create my own and it’ll probably be just fine. ... show more

  • Night and Day Difference: Worx 20v vs DeWalt 20v
I have had a frustrating experience with a Worx battery-fueled trimmer 20V that has .065mm line. Aside from the many issues I had with the spools not feeding smoothly, when it did work, the line would not cut through runners of St. Augustine grass that were creeping along my sidewalk. I spent a lot of time trying different spools from different manufacturers to solve the line problem. No luck. I gave up. I saw the DeWalt trimmer, which also is 20v, but uses .080 line. I decided I didn't have a "power" problem as much as I had a heavy-duty need. Today I received my DeWalt trimmer and after charging the battery, took it for a test drive in my back yard where I hadn't been able to trim in quite a while. I am astounded at the difference it makes with the thicker line. It cuts -- like the Worx never did. So very pleased! It is heavy for me, but I can manage it well by using my thigh to balance the weight. I find that it seems like a much better piece of equipment than the one I replaced. On my trial run, this seems to be what need, even though it cost quite a bit more. I also adjust from right-handed use to left-handed use in terms of holding the power buttons. Works fine either way. I did get cocky and try to cut through a live bamboo culm and the string came undone. I'll get to learn how to string it again tomorrow, but for tonight -- I am very pleased with this tool, and can't wait to have my yard trimmed again! When unboxing, pay attention. The screws provided to attach the shield were in a small bag, and I didn't find them when unpacking, but when I went back to the box ready to go in the garbage, I located them. Ten minutes to assemble and out the door I went. ... show more

  • NO PRODUCT OR CUSTMER SUPPORT!
Dewalt Support Non Existent!! DO NOT BUY THIS DEWALT WEED TRIMMER, IT WILL FAIL AND THEY WILL IGNORE YOU! Customer support is very bad and there is no real support. This specific item has known issues which Dewalt will ignore. The first unit I purchased failed within 3 months. I had a very hard time getting needed support (they like to ignore your request for support, drag out the process by asking questions already answered, and then ignore you until you go away). Support prefers phone calls so that there is no official record or documentation. After months of going back and forth and just about throwing in the towel on the unit and brand, one supervisor came forward and actually did not right thing and helped me resolve the matter. Long story short, I am a long time customer of Dewalt and have many tools and storage units which have worked great. This specific weed trimmer package purchased (DCST9221) was great when it worked; light and easy to use. But when it failed, support was horrible and their tactics are to frustrate the customer until they give up. I say this because being a loyal customer, enjoying the light weight of the unit which made it easier to use for an older man, I MISTAKENLY gave Dewalt a second chance and purchased another unit thinking the first was an outlier. My second experience with this trimmer was only different in that the support was even worst then the first time. Once again the trimmer failed (according to the support, the motor failed which has been out of stock for months) after only6 uses; just outside of the 90 day return window. I contacted customer support and experienced the same run around only worse. Despite my request to escalate my complaint to a supervisor after months and months of contacting them, the same support person refuses to escalate my complaint and initially wanted me to send my unit thousands of miles, just to be checked; when we had a Dewalt service and repair a few miles away. The trimmer has been in for repair for three months with no completing date in sight and Dewalt won’t respond to any of my emails other than a generic; “Your request (11776241) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff.” And then you hear nothing from them. Again, I loved Dewalt and have a lot of Dewalt tools and storage units, but their support is nonexistent and they will not help their customers when their faulty products fail. No loyalty for loyal customers. If you buy this trimmer you better hope it fails within the first 90 days, because their 1 year repair and parts, and 3 year warranty is useless. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!! ... show more
