    • 5 Starts isn't enough!
Ive seen these things around, but never in use, but recently I needed one (...or two, or three as it turns out!) for an interior project in which I would have the power shut off. So I tried it. Works great. Extended the mast, which locked securly, tilted the head and it lit up the work are quite nicely. It's NOT omni-directional, but spinning it around is easy. It uses the 20v high cap battery and has 3 selectable light levels (I used High only). And it sits on a VERY stabel tripod that folds back inot itself... So very cool, But ok, so they all probably do that.... Then I last night I very unexpectedly had to work outside, in VERY heavy forest fire smoke, visibility in 10's of meters, ash falling, no visible sky... (seems like Chelan to Cle Elum is on fire!)... AT NIGHT. This thing cut through the Smoke and lit up the area very well. And we only had One (1) of them. It was on high, and running continuously from about 19:00 to 01:30 and didn't die. (by the way, it will flash 3 times every couple minutes or so when you should start thinking about changing the battery, but you still have a fair amount of left time when this 'warning' sequence starts) Anyway, this is a fantastic light stand, and I highly recommend after last night! ... show more

    • Very bright and heavy duty.
This is a very well made light and easy to open/collapse and carry from one place to another. Great that it can utilize all the different Dewalt batteries I already have. Only issue I've discovered is the lamp will only rotate partially around. So if you need to rotate beyond its limits you will have to reposition the lamp itself. Not a big deal but it would be nicer if the lamp would just spin 360 degrees. I assume it is due to wiring restrictions. Overall I put off purchasing this due to the price but in the end I'm glad I splurged and have used it quite a bit already. ... show more

I put off buying this as it's so much more than your traditional stand light. Everything I own is Dewalt and I have the batterys. This one came with a battery that was junk out of the box, and Dewalt replaced it. There is nothing that Dewalt has made that has disappointed me, and this light is so worth it. Folds to very compact, Light to carry anywhere, I love that I can take this to the wood shed and spilt wood in the dark! no cord to run. Sucker is so bright! Yes its' alot of money, I'd do it again! got it for Hubby for Christmas, I use it all the time. Gave away my old stand light ... show more

Battery is compatible with Dewalt 20v batteries. It is very bright and easily adjusted. Reviews mentioned problems with the legs but I have only used it a few times and have had no problems. Power went out shortly after buying it and I turned it on and pointed it at the ceiling to light up my living space until the power came back on. There are multiple brightness levels. It has a carrying handle, it is a little heavier than I expected but not unreasonable. Used it on a construction site so I didn't have to worry about tripping on wires. ... show more

    • Easy to use and very bright!
Ordered this on a whim, and within a few days of receiving I had a project that it came in hand for. East to use, setup, and adjust. The telescoping light was able to shine on a project that was very near the ceiling. In the past I would have had lights set on the floor pointed at the ceiling but with this, I was able to position and angle to exactly where I needed it. Used for about 3 hrs, didn’t get hot, still plenty of batter left, multiple brightness settings, and took just a few seconds to collapse when I was done. I bought this for my son-in-law and he loves it! He uses it a lot. It is very durable, not crazy heavy, and the way it adjusts is pretty versatile. Good battery life too. I bought reconditioned and it was perfect. If I wasn’t told it was reconditioned, I wouldn’t have known it was ever even used.

This thing is plenty bright on its own and extremely durable. The versatility triples if you have 2 of them as well, it's functionally like having stadium lighting anywhere you want.
