It blows air in a "wider" area but less air ( like your head and shoulders) which is good if you want more coverage, but the more traditional round-blade fans ( 4.7 inch) blow in a more focused area ( less coverage, like blow only in your face) but more air. However, there are 3 speeds usually for all fans so you can get more airflow if you want it. The higher speeds means more noise though so I like the lowest speed. The noise level might be about the same as round-blade fans but just sounds different. Maybe say the round fans have a lower frequency sound and the bladeless fan has a little , not much, higher frequency. Sound is acceptable but I would like if there was less noise for all fans. I have both fans and did a side-by-side comparison testing. I was hoping the bladeless fan had less noise. ... show more

When I first received the fan, I saw that it charged with a usb-c. I did not use the cord that came with it because I had a cord for my tablet that was already plugged in, I used that cord instead. I was very frustrated when the fan would not charge and almost sent it back. Before I did that though, I decided that I should try to charge the fan with the cord it came with. That did the trick. I totally messed up and wrote a review for the wrong company This is the 2nd one I got the 1st 1. I got was from a different company and the charging system didn't work. It was essentially the same exact thing when this one came in everything worked fine. I charged it it held a charge without being plugged in the lights are really pretty. Our electricity went out for a minute The other day and lucky me I had the fan it was awesome. It's Rainy hurricane season here in Florence so I expect to be using it alot. For starters, it's definitely effective. My a/c is out, I live in the desert, and with this blowing directly on me as my only real source of cool air in 90-100+°F heat, I usually don't even have it on the highest setting to be comfortable. I've been using it a lot and nothing really seems to phase it as long as you aren't blocking the intake. I've mostly had it on the middle setting and I frequently forget that it's on because it really doesn't make much noise. The low setting is practically silent. The high setting is a bit more noticeable, though not any louder than an oscillating fan on low/medium. The battery life is ok. I can run it on the middle setting for a handful of hours before it needs to be charged. It definitely doesn't make it through a full work day, even on the lowest setting, so you'll need to have some way to charge it if you need it for longer periods of time. I mostly just run it plugged in, though, and that works just fine. It definitely does restrict maneuverability, though, if you're using it when it needs to be charged. The only REAL annoyance I've had has been the lights. During the day when I'm in my office cave, the added light from the fan is great, and it's fun to have some rainbow lights on occasion. I don't use that feature often, but it definitely does work and it is pretty cool. That having been said, I mentioned that my a/c is out, so I've been using this thing essentially all day, every day, including at night. If there is a way to turn off the light on the power/mode button, I have not found it. And it is plenty bright, just in the ring around that button. I have been looping a weighted sleep mask over it... It could definitely stand to have a night mode. It's not a Dyson, but value for money, this will get the job done without breaking the bank. I would recommend this to anyone, but I would especially recommend it for children who need a fan & a nightlight. It comes in cute colors, the rainbow lights are fun, and there aren't any actual press-in buttons. It's all touch-sensitive so they're not going to get anything weird or sticky in there and not be able to turn it on any more, can't pull it out or off (plus it's super easy to clean). ... show more
