Edit: Immediately after my initial review, the customer service team reached out to apologize for my experience and tell me they had already refunded the money for both purchases that I was unsatisfied with. I didn't even have to contact them or ask them anything. I have since switched back to my favorite cookies and cream flavor from Designer Lite and will continue to buy it as long as it is available. Thank you for correcting the bad experience with great service. I have been buying this brand of powder for several years now, specifically the cookies and cream designer lite. I have gotten many friends and coworkers hooked on it as well, it's my absolute favorite! This is a trusted brand for me so I decided to check out some of their other products and order this one plus the toffee collagen... I'm not sure what the difference is but they both taste HORRENDOUS!!! I was honestly shocked because they nailed the flavor of the cookies and cream one but these ones are just intolerable for me. I have bought Designer Whey since it was introduced, many years ago. And while there have been small changes over the years, I still believe it to be the best protein supplement purchase one can buy. HINT: for taste, buy the PURELY UNFLAVORED variety and add your own flavoring; doing so will assure you a flavor you like. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is because the current packaging, a pouch, is a bit awkward as it does not reseal so well, compared to the older style of a container with a screw on lid. ... show more

I’ve been buying the chocolate 2lb bag for a while now. It’s been great, with flavor and in fueling my workouts and recovery. Recently decided to give the strawberry flavor a try, HUGE mistake. I’m torn, I would give a 5 star rating for the chocolate product, but a 0 star for the strawberry. The taste is god awful. Very thin taste, and more run of the mill whey protein taste. Maybe what whey protein powders used to taste like 15 years ago. If you know, they were all terrible. I rinse out my shaker with water after I use them. With the chocolate, it would get slightly foamy, but rinse out after 3 times with a few ounces. The strawberry was way different. It resembled dish soap with just a few ounces of water. I had to fill the shaker up over half way, and rinse out over 5 times. Do not get the strawberry. Chocolate is GREAT though. ... show more

The constituents of protein (amino acids) are some of the most vital building blocks for the human body. Most people talk about getting their protein from meat, fish, etc, but the truth is that most of us do not chew well enough to really get all the nutrition out of our meals. In addition, proteins tend to be thermolabile which means they get denatured and loose some efficacy when heated. So cooking your meat as we all do (for good reasons by the way) reduces the nutrient density. In addition, solid food is energetically expensive to digest and assimilate because your body actually has to work immensely hard to turn your steak or chicken breast into liquid form so that it can be absorbed. This is why most of us get tired after a large meal. Powdered protein gives you huge chunk of all the essential amino acids that your body needs already in liquid form which your body can easily assimilate without much work. Designer whey also includes vital minerals such as zinc, magnesium, and calcium that your bones and muscles need for continued maintenance and growth. I recommend adding this product to a fruit and vegetable smoothie every morning as it gives you a much better chance of recovering faster after workouts, and the fruits and vegetables will surely boost the efficacy of your immune system. If you drink this with almond milk, it actually almost tastes like regular chocolate milk so you won't have any problem gulping it down. In summary, it is a great product for your health and vitality. Our wealth is in our health. If you are laid up sick or injured, you can't make any money and/or do what you love... those two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. While no one can guarantee full health, it is my humble opinion that spending a little cash on something like this that is proven to have health benefits is well worth the investment. I'm not one to write reviews but I'm incredibly disappointed. I've been using protein powders for a long time and have been experimenting with different whey proteins. I loved the ingredient list so I really wanted to like this but I just couldn't. It started off with the smell– I had the strawberry flavor and some of the shake got onto my hand and immediately smelled like puke. It refused to dissolve in my handheld shaker even after I scraped it off the bottom of my bottle and stirred it around manually. It tasted sickly sweet, a bit like watered down cough syrup. Then I started breaking out. I've never broken out from a whey protein powder before but something in this made me react horridly. On top of that, you can't even return it! I had high hopes because of all the good reviews and its nutritional profile, but I will not be using this again. ... show more
