  • Replaced a worn out "Excalibur" fence
Style: Fence System
I'm a high school shop teacher of nearly 30 years experience. At school, I am happy to report ,we have SawStop table saws , and they are EVERYTHING that they claim! Highly recommended! In my shop at home, though, I run a vintage Delta Unisaw that is probably as old (or older) than me. 1950's vintage, I think. Years ago, I replaced the original fence with a Canadian made "Excalibur" fence, which seemed to work ok for a decade or two, but in more recent years, has not held up. It would not stay put when locked down - it did not take much sideways pressure to cause it to slip, causing aggravation and potential danger. Parts of it - the roller bearings, the clamp pads - just seemed worn out. When I tried to tighten it up, it would get so stiff I could barely move it. The fence had become an aggravation and was potentially dangerous as well - It wasn't cheap when I bought it, but it was time for it to go. Did some research and decided that an old Delta saw would do well with a NEW Delta fence. This Delta T3 Fence and Rail system seemed to fit the bill, and the price seemed fair. I'm very confident and comfortable with the "Beisemeyer" T-square style of fence, having used them at school as well as in several shops I have worked in for decades now (Should have bought that rather than the "Excalibur" all those years ago, I guess...). Putting it on was not too difficult - Four of the original holes in the saw table (2 in the front and 2 in back) lined up perfectly, and I only needed to drill a couple new holes in the table extensions as well as in the side table that I had made years ago for the Excalibur fence. I also hung a new paddle switch (POWERTEC 71651) off the left table extension with a longer bolt of my own - SO nice to be able to shut the saw off by just leaning forward with my leg and not have to be fumbling around with my right hand for the old switch in the old location! Fence was easy to adjust to exactly parallel with the slots/blade, and it was not hard to adjust the gauge to read/measure accurately - and boy, does it lock down TIGHT. In summary, VERY happy with this new Delta fence for my old Delta Unisaw. ... show more

  • Great product - recommended as an upgrade.
Style: Fence System
Purchased to replace the stock fence on my 30 yr old Delta 34-444 Contractor saw. No issues with shipping damage or jumbled parts in the box, as others have reported. Assembly was easier than I expected. The mounting holes matched up with the existing pass through holes; no drilling necessary, and all the hardware including allen wrenches were supplied. Fine tuning was barely necessary and the adjustments were very straightforward. I also found that I can remove the face of the fence to replace it with a 36" extruded aluminum t-track, just 3 screws hold it on. Overall very happy - the fence is rock solid, the rails are heavy, making the fence very stable. ... show more

  • Great fence for the Craftsman 113 saws
Style: Fence System
EDIT: 12/23/20. I have been seeing a lot of questions on whether this will fit this model or that model. I can say that if you have a table saw 27" deep, front to back, you can make this work. Yes you will need to drill holes in the cast iron but it is soft and easy to drill. It is really not difficult if you take your time and check your measurements. Keep in mind that some saws are inherently inaccurate and the fence is not the issue, this fence won't fix this. Do searches online to see if your model is worth the money, time, and effort. No offense but this is how the tool world goes. Some tools are just not well built. I bought this for a 1983 Sears Craftsmam 113 table saw. There are some modifications but overall an easy install if you have some mechanical ability. You will need to drill holes in either the cast saw top or the steel angle of the fence, and 4 clamps. Take your time measuring and use clamps to hold angle in place. TIP: I measured the distance from the LEFT side of the fence to the RIGHT side hairline. There is a hairline on each side of the fence that measures the width of your rips, make sure the hairline is centered first it is adjustable. I measured 5.25 inches. I then measured from the RIGHT side of the blade, 5.25 inches and drew a line parallel to the blade, from front to back on the saw top. This is the "centerline" for the rails. I then mounted my front rail and tube( the part that the fence slides and locks on to) so that when they are bolted to the saw the hairline on the RIGHT reads 0 inches. If you bolt the tube and angle together first, then put the fence on the tube and lock it, you can do this quite easily. The fence will just touch your blade. Add a couple spacers under the fence(1/8") or so and clamp in place. The spacers will help keep the front rail and tube at the correct height. Then drill and mount. The rear angle just gets mounted so that when fence is reading 30.5" or so, it still has the fence riding on it. Adjust the height of it so that the fence stays parallel to the saw top. There are videos on YouTube that will help. It's really not that complicated if you think through a few time first. Hope this helps ... show more
