This was fairly easy to put together. The only part that was a bit challenging is when you had to put the 3 long pieces on the back and the long piece on the front all the same time. You need 2 people for that part. Also, the screws that go into the hooks on the ladder are too small. Either that or they drilled the holes in the wood too big. They were quite loose and not in the wood snug at all. Not a huge problem because I was able to put bigger screws in myself and it worked out just fine. This twin bed is easy to assemble, has a cloth house attachment and railings to keep your child safe at night. Kids can use their imagination while playing on the sturdy bed or in the “house” underneath. The underneath area has lots of storage room.

This bed is perfect for a toddler/small child that is too big for a baby bed but not big enough for an adult bed. My grandson loves feeling "high up in the air" and mom and dad love that he is not too high such that they worry. The space under the bed is great for storage or, in my grandson's case, a small reading nook. It seems sturdy and of good quality....However, we have only had it for less than a month so I can't yet speak about how long it will last...I'm hoping for at least several years. Love LOVE this bed! Super easy to put together. My 4yo son helped me and it still only took an hour. It’s definitely more solid than I thought. Love the finish. Like others said you can smell the stain still but that isn’t unusual. The package came all busted. I almost refused the package as I saw broken wood. I felt bad for my UPS driver trekking across my long icy driveway in the dark with such an enormous, heavy package so I didn’t refuse it. Luckily it was just packing material. They had it packed so well it was scrap wood over styrofoam. Not a scratch on the bed despite the box being trashed. Also the 4 posts ARE numbered on the bottom. A reviewer said they weren’t. It was faint but there for sure. Very happy with Donco. I ordered another brand bed from Wayfair the same day and it was definitely not as sturdy. ... show more

I bought this for my 6 year old son. It's a very sturdy bed. I was able to put it together by myself (female with no construction skills) but it would be easier to have an extra person to help. The fit is true to size. It is a bigger frame. He loves the space below the bed to lay and hide. Only negative is the Velcro that holds the curtains on, fell off within a day. No biggie but I'd recommend a stronger Velcro. Age range would be about 6-12 years old. Ladder is removable and can be placed on either side. The packaging had me a little worried because the box was pretty beat up on side. Thankfully not a single piece had any blemishes on it. I put it together all by myself in about 2 hrs, probably would have been quicker but I was trying to keep two little kids from climbing all over it while it was being built. I think the only thing that would have made things slightly easier, would have been to have all the hand drilled screws at least slightly started. It took a little for our almost 3 year old to figure out the ladder, but now that he has it down pat we can't keep him out of bed. Its pretty sturdy, and appears to hold my weight as well as my husband's pretty well. Which is nice to know since our son still occasionally wakes up at night. The cloth pieces for underneath are well made as well, and super easy to install. We loved that they are velcro, Makes it super easy for cleaning. We also love the coloring! We got the antiqued grey, and it's such a pretty color! ... show more

****EDIT: I contacted the seller and their response was prompt and polite. I was outside of the window for replacement (30 days) but the recommended contacting the manufacturer and even put the number in their response. HOWEVER, I am choosing not to change the star rating because one of the beds REALLY broke this morning. The screws for the platform that the mattress sits on failed this morning. My seven year old found herself crumpled in the tangled mess of it all. (See the third photo.) As you can see from the last photo the screws don't go very far into the wood.**** I am NOT happy. Bought 2 of these beds for my daughters. They've been used for one week and the main frame on one is splitting (first two photos). The last photo is of the ladder of the OTHER bed from assembly. One of the dowel holes was drilled too shallow causing the ladder to break when fully assembled. We've used the beds for a week and one of them is looking like it needs to be replaced already. ... show more
