  • I hope my lil ol' opinion helps someone...
Darn it Martha Stewart! Let me explain, a few weeks ago, while I was flipping through Channel's one Sunday morning, "Martha Bakes" was on PBS, [in my next life Martha and I are BFF's] so I paused when I heard Martha Stewart was beginning a segment on, "slow cooker Pot Roast” and just like that POOF, she had me at pot roast. We cook's know how Martha makes everything look easy, but this segment, really did look simple and easy to achieve a perfect outcome. But, [indulge me please] I, who own everything, ever made to cook with, i.e., two commercial Viking gas ovens, two commercial convection Wolf ovens, two Viking warming draws an eight burner with two griddles commercial gas cook top, two full size Sub-Zero refrigerators, one full size Sub-Zero freezer and two Sub-Zero freezer draws, one steam oven, and my oh so loved Vollrath sous vide, and my [custom built] walk-in 24’ x 18’ x 12’ temperature controlled pantry... YES, OK, I'm bragging a tiny bit, but, I believe if you know something about who is reviewing "a" product, it helps to understand where the reviewer(s) opinion is coming from. What was I saying...? Oh yes, for the one [add Smiley face with halo emoji ] who has it all… I have never... owned, borrowed or used a slow cooker. Now I said, "Damn Martha" because of her slow cooker segment... It took me weeks of reading reviews from both home cooks and professional test kitchen's, from the inexpensive, to the gulp, does that thing come with a gold brick inside? Exhausted, I called my [real-life] BFF Holly, because she loves cooking as well, but sadly Holly was in Ireland with her girls, for two weeks and she couldn't remember the brand. [add three sad, crying emoji faces here] Finally, I came across this pretty little De Longhi slow cooker, and was quite intrigued with all its functions, [it's not just a slow cooker] the price was great for a small counter top appliance that does so much, so I thought, Lula May lets give it a try… and I'm tickled pink glad I did. I bought it on a Sunday [Amazon Prime with a Tuesday delivery] on Monday, I was off to my butcher, [Burt] then to my favorite organic farmers market and back home. [Approximately 1:00 pm] I easily programed it... setting it on the "HIGH" temp... for five hours cooking time... later that evening at 6:45 sharp, I presented my husband and four guest's a delicious, and perfectly cooked Pot Roast, surrounded by carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, onions, with a side dish of haricot vert and finishing dinner, with a Grand Mariner Crème brûlée, and fresh organic raspberry's. My kitchen was clean and I wasn't exhausted from cooking! The little bit to clean-up was a breeze, I just popped the liner and glass lid into the dishwasher along with the dinner dishes, and joined my husband and our guests in the library for an after dinner port. My husband had surgery yesterday [Friday] so tonite I’ll be making or should I say, "De Longhi-ing" one of his favorites, Baby Quail in cognac and pearl onions with a side dish of buttery mashed red potatoes and a gorgeous wedge salad topped with a blue cheese, bacon dressing. Contact me to find out how tonights dinner turned out, or any ol' question(s) you might have. Lastly, I would highly recommend this eye catching, easy to use, store anywhere, does everything, De Longhi counter-top slow cooker [that's a mouth full] to ALL cook's of ALL level's of experience. If you read this far, thank you how kind. Just a simple housewife... with a rich husband, Lula May ... show more

  • I will never use a conventional crock pot ever again!
Worth. Every. Penny. Where have you been all my life? Was looking into Instapots, Ninja Foodi's, Air fryers, and was recommended this by several people. Researched it and pulled the trigger since my last crock pot got wrecked and needed another one. First meal: Beef roast with onions, carrots, potatoes, and marinade. SEARED that baby after giving it a coat of oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and Montreal Steak Seasoning. As per the directions, threw in the onions, carrots, and potatoes and THEY seared in the juices and smelled DELISH! Added my marinade, turned it on "High" for slow cooker and let it go. Oh. My. Goodness. This is not just a crockpot where "ceramic gets hot and heats stuff in bowl." This was more like a controlled oven. It held a temp of 400 degrees. The meat fell apart and the veg was PERFECTLY cooked. So easy. So monumentally better than a traditional crockpot. Wow. Just WOW. The size is perfect and the weight is perfect. I thought I saw on the packaging that it was 15 lbs but I don't think it is. Super easy. SUPER high quality. This is a MUST HAVE. Also.......bakes, steams, sears.............the only thing it does not do is air fry, but I don't care. I could literally use this for every meal I make. LOVE IT! ... show more

  • Well built and Surprisingly Effecient
The media could not be loaded. I'm usually a little leery of a product that claims to do several different things. Usually, it becomes a compromise that doesn't do any one thing that well. This cooker proved to be an exception. First impressions were very good. This is a solidly built unit with great eye appeal and easy to use controls. It was well packaged and features a heavy glass lid. Actually, the whole thing is a bit on the heavy side, but that just adds to the solid feel. It is an ideal size, having enough room to cook a large roast but still small enough to fit in the cabinet. Cooking with it is simple. The removable liner is some type of non-stick surface (not Teflon) and it really works well. We tried using the bake function first. That seemed like the hardest task for a cooker like this. We were concerned that cooking at a higher heat would burn the bottom of the food. It did seem to sizzle a bit, but it really didn't burn (a little crispy) and it didn't stick to the surface. It is still not quite like an oven, but it cooks faster than an oven. The little gem really shines as a slow cooker or steamer. There is a steel rack that elevates the food and it works perfectly. We have not tried cooking rice because we rarely eat rice. This is one of those rare products that really looks and performs as well as the product page says. This will be our "go to" cooking surface for many meals. Cooks fast and clean up is easy with removable liner. ... show more

  • Food saver!
I have used this everyday for a week my meal time is so easy now. It shuts off the cooking at the designated time and then warms the food so it doesn’t go bad while you are still at work. You can sauté/ brown in the pan then switch to cook and don’t have to get out multiple things that need to be washed. It works as an oven and a steamer. I was skeptical because of the price but it is well worth it. ... show more

  • All on One Pot
Convenient to use. This is a good size capacity; 6 quarts. Pot is very light and is an aluminum like non stick surface. You should use scratch resistant cooking utensils to prevent scratching the special coating that are similar to rice cookers. Overall simple to use. I still haven’t had much success with the baking feature. Most likely an operator error? I think the temps run hotter than what is selected. Anyone else have a different outcome? I wish this model could have the inner pot to be used on the stove top, but it doesn’t. The other model without the baking or braising can be used on the stovetop for regular cooking. ... show more
