Well we saved money by buying these and doing it ourselves. My husband is a sprinkler fitter and has some construction knowledge. I have a 1000 square ft house and we put one in the basement, one in the living room and one in our bedroom. The window AC were killing us at 400+ electric bills and the house was uncomfortable and not that cool. The window AC if I cooked the house got hotter, but with this unit it was awesome. My bills went down and I was finally comfortable. I have boiler heat in this house and we tested the heat and they work great and if my boiler goes out I’m glad to have a back up. FYI they need a way to drain. I think the drain tubes provided are cheap and you can up grade that

The system is Great-Super Quiet and Efficient. BUT if you buy directly from Della's website they have better customer support for switching parts like linesets lengths(copper and electric lines from outdoor unit to indoor units) for free and warranty details. For a 1200 sqft house we bought a 27K BTU (3 indoor unit system, 9K, 9K, & 12K) that came with 3 16' linesets, but we needed 2 50' linesets. If we bought from Della directly they would have exchanged for free, but buying from Amazon we had to put out another $600 for 2 longer linesets. Easy to install if you're an avid DIY. No ductwork, which is excellent for flood areas. Mount units on wall, run linesets (in or thru walls) to outdoor compressor, run 220V service to outdoor unit with a disconnect. We built a 5' high stand for outdoor unit. We had a HVAC company come to make the final lineset connections and startup (about $500). Haven't had a need for the heating part; will update later. Wish I had done this years ago!!!

My central heat pump failed and would have costed me $18,000 for a replacement through a company. Thats alot of money most people don't have including myself. So I decided to take the DIY route and install this unit in my 1800 sq ft house and it was the best decision I could have made. This thing is so much more efficient than my old central unit and zoned temps make all rooms feel exactly how you want. Even on the turbo setting the fan is whisper quiet. Only downside so far is the lack of a fully functional mobile app. Do your research and watch some tutorials and you'll find that this unit is more than worth it.

The old, undersized central air was not cutting it. I spent a while researching mini split units and decided to go with Della. Having never installed one before, I read a bunch, watched a lot of video, went for it. Took my time, took two days to fully install the three indoor units, in very hot weather. If you are a DIY'er, I would not hesitate to install one of these. Bending the copper, just take your time, support the bending, all good. One unit is not on an exterior wall, I tried two different pumps, one did not work at all, the other was questionable, I ended up doing an alternative drain hidden in closets to the garage and the washing machine drain, much better! If you can, forget about the pumps and figure a way to drain using good 'ol gravity. Saves you money, works better, no additional maintenance issues. The kids, having their own control of their room, and with their doors never left open, these units work so much better. Using the app on my phone I can see just how cold they keep their rooms. Quite cold!! Once the room is cooled, the unit is really not working much to maintain that temp. Still waiting for my first bill!! :)
