I rent the house in which I live. They are legally supposed to make sure the HEAT is in working order. Well, the central HEAT works just fine..but the central A/C is old and outdated....so I bought this. This unit damn-near replaced the central A/C. AMAZING. I have high-vaulted ceilings in the upstairs of my house (plus a 15x2 foot skylight), and this unit was great AFTER I PUT SOME REFLECTIVE MATERIAL on the giant skylight. Our house is about 1200 square feet total. There's one big room downstairs that's MAYBE 200 square feet. This unit is upstairs cooling the other 1000 square feet effectively. I went ahead and bought an evaporative cooler for the downstairs (I live in a dry, hot climate), but as far as THIS thing is concerned, it has a BANG to it. At first, I was gonna return it until I realized that the giant skylight was the culprit for letting so much heat in. So I went to the store and bought a couple of windshield covers for said skylight and...voila! I set it at 75 degrees and my upstairs stays there. I set it at 70 degrees, and it does that too. The room downstairs is still the warmest, but not by as much as it used to. This thing packs a punch for its size. HOWEVER: I'd like to point out the reasoning for my 4 star review; I'm not a huge fan of the "smart" functions on this unit. I'm in love with the fact that I can control it from anywhere...but I liked the fact that I could program it to function based on the weather forecast. But when it comes to programming it to run based on a weather forecast, it just kinda does its own thing. I don't know what weather app this thing uses to determine the outside temperature, but it sucks. For damn-near $700 for an air conditioner, i expected better. The only thing keeping me practically in love with this unit is the fact that I can control it from my phone. So the connectivity is great. But program this thing to turn on/off based on your needs? So far not impressed. Just gotta check it before I head to work. Then, if for any reason, I forgot to set it where I want it, I can do it from my phone. I only bought this unit with intent to use it as an air conditioner....I know it can also function as a fan, dehumidifier, and a heater. I live in a dry climate, so I see no need to use the dehumidifier function. However, I will update as we go into winter and let y'all know about the heater function. UPDATE 2/6/22: So I've been using the heater function this winter and it does the job. It's expensive to run so I generally use my woodstove or propane buddy heater but when the fire goes out overnight, I wake up to the heater running and a house around 65 degrees. My only complaints about the heater are that 1) The temperature is about 7 to 8 degrees off. I have the heater set at 72 to keep it at about 65. 2) It also sometimes expels water during heat mode so you'll have to find a way to let it drain cause it'll stop working when the internal tank is full. The media could not be loaded. This was a pretty easy install. It blows air through the entire livingroom and into another room and hallway that's connected as long as the least ceiling fans are going along with it. It's not too loud and I love the fact that it's also a heater. I Haven't tried it yet but I will in the winter. If it works to my liking, I'll come back and get it another star. I've had it 2 days. So far, so good. Will let you know how it lasts. But we do plan to buy a 2nd one for our bedroom. ... show more

(Edit, I was sent a replacement and now my room is at 73 which is where I like it.) It was working great in fact it was a little too cold now it just stopped. Now warnings just won't cool. As in Pic it won't go under 77 but it's hotter now. And no not a very large room.

-Need screwdriver to install window inserts -Fits a 32” long window perfectly with some room to spare. -I have a very large space I’m cooling down, sometimes it’s hard to tell if it’s working then I go outside and I’m like yup that’s the ticket! #3rdstoryapartment -beautiful design -automatic swing -gorgeous remote! - had to turn off on a milder day because I was too cold! It was (70^)’ish - my toddler likes to close the automatic gate some (your totally not supposed to do that) and it still swings gently! (Till further notice) ;) -Well built -sturdy, withstood shipping like a champ! - received the parcel 15 days early via Fed Ex! (Muchly appreciated that!) - it’s sleek and intelegent looking, seriously I am pretty happy with my purchase. - noise complaint? I have none, I hear it at first but it really does blend in with the sound of this and that and sometimes I forget it’s even on! -worth it! ((You can always return it)) EDIT I added some pictures A suggestion from the comment section on this AC said: get some foil duct bubble wrap to wrap the hose in and that helps reduce the heat from the hose! Trusting their expertise, I ordered some of this foam stuff on Amazon (I got something completely different from the foil bubble wrap I though I ordered) but I decided to use it anyways! Then Headed to Lowe’s to buy two rolls of silver foil tape to secure the pieces! WOW! What a difference! Went from chugging along kinda cooling the room to: COLD on a 90* Day! Obvie i am taking some other precautions to create a cool environment -reflective side of blinds bouncing the sun out -volcanic window coverings to reduce greenhouse heat by 30% -covering the window with a lite photo backdrop All purchased on Amazon I love my machine This 10,000 BTU unit Cost 150$ less then the big AC at Costco that had 8,600 BTUs and cools light years better! Works great. I’m not sure the size of my room but I’m using it in a medium size bed room for only a few hours at a time. I live in Florida so it’s expected that it’s not going to be able keep the room super cool. So, this is actually my second one of these machines. The first one came defective with a non working water sensor. Although, I contacted the manufacturer through the number on the manual. They were super helpful and actually sent me another machine, (that’s the one in the photos). The app is super easy to connect to the AC, and works great. I’m a little worried about how much electric it takes, as my parents pay electric and my father likes to conserve to save money. Hopefully there isn’t too much of an increase. Having the machine set on medium speed, it’s about as loud as my large fan set to high. I’m used to the noise so it doesn’t really bother me. Overall I’m happy with my purchase, and gave it 4 stars because the first one came defective. ... show more
