The media could not be loaded. My old mini-split in the garage kept leaking coolant, so I looked for a higher-quality brand. I found this one with really good specs and a nice size, and I had to give this one a try. I was not disappointed; this one has worked out great. First off, I love how easy this one was to install and with no issues too. Came with everything, the hoses, wiring, mounting brackets, and really easy-to-understand instructions too. Install was in place of another one, so the hole was already there. The hoses easily fit and connected to the outside unit easily as well. Wiring was easy, already had the outside connections, so all in all, took me just under two hours to install. Secondly, it works great. I like how it puts out the cool and is so quiet when it does it, too. It is so nice how it brings the garage to temp and keeps it at temp too. The remote control adjusts the temperature and modes and does it from a pretty good distance as well. Lastly, I really like the outside unit, which is a lot quieter than my old one, and the neighbors even mentioned it too. Also, I highly recommend testing the connections with soap water and look for bubbles. I had one fitting I did not tighten enough, and found it that way, and is a foolproof test too. This unit works great. Quiet. Almost makes no noise. It will pay for itself in about a year. No need to cool the entire 4000 sf house with a 5 ton A/C unit when my wife and I are sitting in the kitchen nook most of the time. EZ to install. I installed mine from start to finsh in about 3 hours, not counting many trips to the hardware store. Just watch the installation video a few times. It comes with everything you need for basic installation, but I think most people would want to buy extra stuff unique to their own install. Comes pre-charged with freon. The system needs to be evacuated prior to opening the lines. Sounds complicated, but it's not. Just watch the couple minute video. It's as ez a screwing in a light blub. Orielly's auto parts rents the vacuum pump to evacuate the lines for free or just buy one on amazon for about $125. I simply plugged my unit into a regular 110volt outlet. Most video's say not to do that. This unit uses about the same electricity as a refrigerator or a space heater, or a microwave, so whats the big deal. Nothing has exploded or burnt up yet. Check the fuse rating on the outlet, mine was fine. I am planning on installing another costway mini-split in my master bedroom and maybe the garage. Highly recommended. ... show more

The product is great. It is super easy to install if you watch the video Amazon has on product listing. If you got by the directions then you will be lost. I recommend getting the wall mount for the outside unit. The unit both heat and cools great. I am super happy with it. UPDATE: 4/23/2023 The unit stopped functioning 3 days after install. I called the "customer service" number for Costway and got little to no help. The machine put up a code that they have never heard of and they wanted me to send them a video of the unit so they could trouble shoot it. While I was waiting I called all the local HVAC processionals in my city and they said they could not help me either due to the Free-on in the unit. There is little to no R-32 for sale in the states that I could find. I had a HVAC professional come out and looked at it and they said it need for Free-on and there had to to be a leak in the unit because the lines were sealed. BEWARE OF THIS UNIT. ... show more

The product itself is amazing. WOW!! It's 105 deg outside and a chilly 71 inside! I purchased 3 of these units at the same time and have installed 2 so far. I did have some contact with the seller to try to negotiate a shipping discount ( thinking they'd be coming on a freight truck and it surely be cheaper to throw them all on the same truck). They did agree to a $20 per unit discount which is better than expected honestly. They held up their end of our agreement and credited me $60 back after all the units arrived. They arrived in 6 boxes just as the sellersaid they would. The compressors from UPS and air handlers from FedEx. This helps explain the $99 shipping. You only get a tracking number for FedEx though.. so I spent unneeded time trying to track down items I thought were lost in transit but were unknowingly on their way here from a different carrier I was totally unaware of. Having never installed these before I had hired a licensed refrigeration company to install them. The 1st unit was missing a couple small items. The plastic collar, pipe wrap and duct seal putty. Each box was missing 2 or more of these items and the installer claimed he didn't have all the pieces needed for the install and left. After wasting a $150 service call I contacted the seller about the missing items and never did get a response back. I've since learned the guy had what he needed to get them installed and running st least. It's not that big of deal but frustrating. I spent another $50 on Amazon and bought all the stuff that was left out. After my hour of working with the ac guy on the 1st attempt I figured I could do this myself. I purchased a vacuum pump and guage set ( $125 on Amazon). Other than having to drill the lines set holes and running dedicated power from the panel( which isn't required), the unit itself was a very simple install. I've seen several complaints on here about lack of instruction but if you can read, you'll figure it out. Wiring was labeled fine. It was worth every bit of the hassle upgrading from two wall units. I plan to purchase a few more for my basement and work shop in the near future. I'm very impressed with this brand . Even at $99 shipping above the $550 price, it's a great deal . ... show more
