Of course, you’re getting what you pay for. So the sound quality is great. I’ve never had to actually touch the speaker, itself to mute or adjust the volume. So it’s nice that it can all still be controlled on the computer itself. Worth paying the higher price to ensure it works without changing up how you work. Size is perfect for desktop. Doesn’t take up much room on the desk. I have it sitting under my mounted monitors. I also love the look of it. It doesn’t stick out like an eyesore or look cheap. The sound and microphone quality of this are great! Being able to interact with Teams and adjust the volume directly from the device is super nice. My wife and I both have one. I honestly don’t know what I was expecting with this speaker. To be honest, all the reviews said that it was a good speaker for using with Zoom and teams, etc. hinting to the fact that it was probably more for business than anything else. I will start by saying that this speaker looks good in person. It feels hefty, well built, and it has a decent length cable with both USBA and USB-C connectors, which is always a plus. I also like the touch controls on the surface of the speaker. Installation was dead, simple, just plugged it into my Mac, and it instantly recognized it. The sound quality when watching YouTube videos is decent, obviously good, but not great considering the size of the speaker. So for my needs, it gets the job done. The only downside and the reason why I am not giving it five stars is that for some reason the notifications for my Mac don’t come through the speaker very well. On the Mac sound control panel you have two different volumes: the volume for the audio, and then above that another slider for the notifications volume. And while the volume for actual content is only about halfway, the volume for notifications has to be all the way to 100% and even then they sound tinny. My solution to this has been to push my notifications through the speakers on my monitor, which while admittedly, not great are more powerful and so I can get my notifications to be more loud that way. Not an elegant solution, but it works for me. It’s a shame because otherwise it’s a great little speaker. If you keep your expectations in check for what it is. As for the value for money, I was ready to give it high marks, but given the problem mentioned above with notifications, I unfortunately cannot say that it’s a great value, because I am sure that some people will say that for the price of $74 and given its small size it should do everything well (I bought a similar speaker from another brand for work for $24 that does exactly the same job as this one just add us a slightly lower sound quality, so for $50 more this speaker should have that other one be in every department and unfortunately it doesn’t.). But if you’re willing to live with that small inconvenience, it’s not a bad little speaker. ... show more

When it works its fine. About 50% of the time when i start a teams call it does not recognize and I get no audio. Requires me to toggle the audio source each time.

    • Great for conference calls in the office

I am typically a headphones person when it comes to Teams or other types of conference calls, however I recently went from a more open office situation where it was headphones or bust to a more traditional office where I can take calls out loud. The reason for my purchase is that I did not like the quality of the speakers on my laptop and wanted the sound to come from the monitor with the people on it (setup is laptop and two monitors and I put my meetings on one of the monitors). This device solved for my issue very nicely. The sound quality for conference calls is excellent. It is probably fine for office volume music as well, though I have not used it for this. I am able to hear and be heard from any where in my fairly large office space. Furthermore, the design of the device itself is thoughtful, with touch sensitive buttons on the front and the ability to wrap and hide any extra cord. Speaking of cords, there is only one USB C cable which provides power and audio (there is a built in USB A adapter if needed). I didn't think I would use it, but it turns out I like the mute button on the device over using my keyboard or mouse. The Teams button is not super useful, but I get it. When you get a noti that you have a call coming in or a meeting starting, you can push it and it will bring up the join call screen and make it your active window. It gets more useful as you get used to it, and it was a wonky experience at first. Obviously, I recommend this product. ... show more
