Extremely well pleased with this purchase. Computer looks nearly like new and works perfectly. But let me give you all a lesson. At first I thought it did not work as there was no video so I called Amazon to talk to someone about it. They immediately forwarded me to someone who was supposedly going to help me. However I had to crawl under my desk to get a number off the computer for them. Since I was under the desk with a flashlight and the phone it was not possible to write down the long number. Then that operator forwarded me to another person and this operation was repeated five times with a wait on the line for someone to talk to me each time. Finally... the last person advised me that the computer had originally belonged to the U.S. Government and was now out of warranty so I would have to go online and fill out a form to get the warranty transferred to me in order to get help. At that point I simply hung up. Then I called back to Amazon again and got a different operator. When I told her of my problem she almost immediately told me that another one would be shipped out to me and I would have it in two days. I did get it in two days as promised. But when I hooked it up I immediately saw that it had do video either. Then I realized that it must be a problem with my hookup. I had changed out the video cable to the monitor as well as trying several other things on the first computer, all with no success so I was now really stumped. As I sat there looking at the installation I spotted the video adapter that converted the Dell Display Port to the HDMI cable and decided that must be the culprit. I had ordered that adapter along with the first computer so it was new and I didn't have another one and couldn't get one locally. So I ordered a new cable with a Display Port fitting on one end and a HTMI connector on the other. Again that came from Amazon in two days. I immediately switched the first computer back into the installation and used the new cable for the video connection. The computer immediately showed video and I felt like a dunce. But the original adapter was new and it never occurred to me that it might be bad. Lesson learned. I had built five computers over the years and worked on many more and never before had a new part fail right out of the box. Again... lesson learned. Now I am in the position of having to return a perfectly functioning computer. So now I will gladly pay for the shipping of that second computer both ways, if possible. In two more weeks I'll be 88 so I don't expect to have to buy another computer in my life. Perhaps I can take this one with me.

I received the refurbished Dell Optiplex 9020, Windows 10, this morning and it started right up into windows seamlessly. I uploaded all my files without any problem. Music sounds great, DVD works perfectly and it is super fast. Connected my Scan snap instantly. I am just delighted with this purchase and am impressed. My previous Dell cost $1100 and I honestly do not see any difference. This is an early assessment so I will update if there are any problems within a reasonable amount of time.

Having used Optiplex computers for a couple of decades for business clients, it really never occurred to me that one of these could be converted to a gaming computer. But, there is a lot to like about this one. First, the 9020 was one of the last desktop computers from a major computer provider (HP, Lenovo, etc.) that used mostly standard components. The power supply is the standard ATX size, not the the small, odd shaped ones that are really, really hard to upgrade. Secondly, the post pattern on the case match standard ATX mini boards. The cutout in the back for rear ports is also standard. Front panel connectors are another story. USB 3 is standard but the power switch, audio and USB 2 ports are proprietary. I wanted to put in RTX 3060 but the stock power supply was not going to cut it. So I ordered the Thermaltake 600w PS and popped it right in, mounting holes matched right up, perfect fit. YOU WILL NEED one of the 24 pin to 8 pin motherboard adapters for this to work. There are quite a few of them for sale on Amazon. Now, plenty of power to drive the RTX 3060. You should be aware that the I7 processor in this one (4790) is NOT on the Windows 11 compatibility list and Dell has indicated it is not likely to write any drivers. It is an older motherboard with an LGA 1150 socket, so your processor is already as good as it gets. But if you are fine staying with Windows 10, this is the one. My only complaint is that the back portion of the case where the add-in cards go was dented a bit. I had to straighten it out with pliers in order to get cards to seat properly and the compression latch on top that Dell uses to hold add-in cards in place (instead of screws) does not work very well. All in all, I am happy though. Game on!
