  • working beautifully, for the short time I've had it set up.
Size: 64GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD
I've only had it set up for two days, so don't know much about it. Mouse and Keyboard work fine, but they are not wireless.

  • Desktop computing made frustrating
Size: 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB PCIe SSD
I had to wait a few days after a grueling effort to configure this Dell OptiPlex so my review didn't seem unusually angry. First, some desktops no longer have an optical drive. This model had an optical reader at extra cost. Otherwise, there's no way to read those old CD's DVD's without an external drive or a move to USB or cloud-based software (which is where the big money players want to force us to go). My old DELL brand external DVD drive would not connect to the new box. No joy there. The OptiPlex does not have an HDMI nor a VGA out either, so a new cable with a new connection was required to get the monitor working. The new monitors only pair up with yet another cable end configuration (looks like a half of an HDMI connector). The little USB Wi-Fi "adapter" sent along with the Dell immediately sputtered and failed. I finally took it out of the USB slot and it was hot to the touch. So another method to connect to Wi-Fi was required. All in all, the Dell seems usable, although Windows 10 on my old Dell with an Intel i3 processor was not upgradeable to Windows 11 but serves us still. Windows 11, which comes loaded on the Dell OptiPlex with a core I7 processor offers little new to the operation of the system that I can tell. In fact it doesn't offer age-old and very useful accessories such as WordPad, and mostly just re arranges the elements of Windows which of course is ever more invasive from a commercial-nag perspective. (After this experience, my next desktop will likely be an Apple, if the industry doesn't entirely strangle itself between now and then.) The configuration of this OptiPlex did not go smoothly. The back up and restore method did not work. I cannot imagine anyone unfamiliar with personal computing at an MS DOS level trying to migrate from one system to another. After three days and lots of restarts, updates, printer updates, driver updates, Wi-Fi configurations both hard and soft, and realizing that some Microsoft software will not run on new MS Operating systems (goodbye backward compatibility) I finally got the box configured and placed into service in our home office. My hope is that Microsoft will stop abandoning its own products forcing massive equipment to end up in landfills along with huge time and expense requirements to keep a device updated. As the cell phone becomes ever more ubiquitous, I'm thinking old tech type people will eventually abandon the PC entirely. As far as the Dell product sent to me, except for the totally cheap wired keyboard and mouse (we've collected boxes of these over the years) and the cheesy and troubled Wi-Fi adapter, I think this Dell might work for us. It's fast, the SSD based system of data storage is a very positive direction, and with 2 terabytes of storage we might be good until Microsoft decides to shake us down again. Dell gets 4 stars, Microsoft 11 gets 3 stars, and the cheesy adapter, keyboard and mouse gets no stars. Good luck. ... show more

  • Power of an i7 chipset with lots of RAM and plenty of storage. Nice air flow for cool electronics
Size: 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD
So far, so good. I bought two of these to replace our aging desktops. This model has the 14th gen i7 chipset, 32G RAM and 1 TB storage. OS is Windows 11 Pro. Set up was easy and I matched each of these desktops to a pair of 27 inch monitors (desktop is capable of connecting to 3 monitors). It does come with a WiFi adapter; however, I use a hardwire connection to a fiber router. It appears that the WiFi adapter works since I can see my WiFi-4 networks on the list of available networks. Graphics capability is sufficient to provide excellent quality on the monitors and on downloads--probably not a great choice for high end gaming. Bottom line--I am very happy with the product; it meets my "must have" list across the board. It's a powerful desktop for all of my needs at home and I expect it will cover my needs for years to come. ... show more

  • Computer is fine, but the provided WiFi Adapter and Keyboard are junk!
Size: 64GB DDR5 RAM, 2TB PCIe SSD
I bought two of these systems, I have been very happy with the computer--everything about has been fine. It was fairly easy to get nearly everything off my old Windows 10 computers onto and working on the new ones. The functionality of the computer has been great and I appreciated the large memories and drives. My only issues have been with the supplied keyboards and WiFi adapters. The issue with the two keyboards is that each has a key (different ones on each) that only seems to work if you hit it hard. I also had several instances, where I got nothing from all keys unless I re-seated the USB plugs and this also happened with both keyboards. Are they rejects? I wasn't plan on using them other than for setting them up, but I wanted folks to know of a potential issue. The WiFi adapters are pitiful. One of the machines, had a 300Mbps no-name adapter in original packaging. The other one came with an "EDUP" 150 Mbps adapter that came in a small zip-lock envelope. One of my computers will be on a wired network connection, where as the other will need a wireless adapter, so I purchased an 1800 Mbps one. I can't believe something better was not provided or internally installed on a machine that some very significant capabilities.. ... show more

  • Looks new but really pre-owned.
Size: 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD
Some others have mentioned this and the same is true for the PC I had ordered. These are pre-owned and the warranty appears to be expiring at the end of 2025 (for mine) and seem to have been shipped somewhere in the united arab emirates. The original RAM was 16GB instead of 32GB, the SSD isn't the same size (this one is larger which is nice), and it came with Ubuntu instead of Windows 11. I would have concerns like others regarding whether or not anything malicious is installed. My main concern will be if I can complete a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro and it register successfully. I'll have more time this week to check it out more and try to update this review. Update: I was able to confirm that the Windows 11 Pro license was activated and attached to the hardware. I've since reinstalled from scratch since that is what I'd be doing anyway. The PC is quick and I think will perform very well. I did also contact the seller and they quickly responded saying that they would provide a 1 year warranty through them if I encountered any issues. Just the fact they were quick to respond says a lot to me. ... show more
