Delivered clean and well packaged. Lightweight. For setup be prepared with your Microsoft account information or ready to create one or bypass and create a true local account. Doesn’t have a traditional Ethernet port. If you need to connect to a router, purchase a thunderbolt Ethernet adapter. The WI-FI connection is super fast on a fiber network. No traces of previous usage. Ran a full scan. Came up clean. Although this renewed Dell Latitude 7420 is 4 or 5 years old, it’s worth the price considering how often MS and all the rest force you to upgrade your hardware. This is a perfect solution for me. I will never buy a new laptop again, not again. ... show more

    • So far so good. Happy with purchase.
Style: Laptop
I’m very happy with this purchase. So far, so good! The laptop arrived in great condition, performs well, and has been exactly what I was hoping for. I did notice some negative reviews before purchasing, but I understand that with renewed electronics, occasionally there can be an issue with an individual unit. That’s always a possibility with this type of product. What gave me confidence was seeing that the company appears to be very responsive when customers do have problems and is willing to help with returns or replacements. My experience has been very positive so far, and for the price, I feel like I got an excellent value. I would definitely recommend giving them a chance if you’re looking for a good renewed business laptop. ... show more

    • Update: Not So Great Refurbished Computer
Style: Laptop
Update: Unfortunately this computer up and died after a few months of use. One day it simply wouldn't power up and was completely unresponsive. I had a local repair shop look at it, and he was baffled on what the problem was. The power box was fine, but the computer was dead. My money is gone and I would not buy a refurbished computer from Amazon again based on this experience. So I recommend that you look elsewhere. Old Review: I have to admit that I was hesitant about buying a refurbished computer from Amazon, but I am very happy with this purchase. The computer, listed in excellent condition, met my expectations. I couldn't tell any difference between this computer and a brand new one. It came with Windows 11, a solid state hard drive and a battery that can be fully charged. ... show more

    • Linux Mint works on it
Style: Laptop
It works really well with Mint Linux. Basically you need to keep tapping F2 during the boot to get into the BIOS menu. Then you turn off secure boot and change the boot order so that the first place the laptop looks for an operating system is the USB drive, where you should have already inserted a disk with the Linux iso. It can be tricky--on the boot options look for a string with USB--but once you get that sorted out, it loads the Mint live disk. Running it off the USB is pretty slow, but if you go ahead and install and update the packages, it runs fast. Linux Mint--I like the KDE desktop--had no trouble seeing my wifi hardware, the speaker, and simply saw my printer and set that up. With Windows getting steadily worse in terms of being like a really annoying salesperson on the doorstep who will just not go away, this is a way to escape all that. Dell computers tend to like Linux because they often have Intel hardware, which works well with Linux. Doing this is not for the faint hearted, but if you need a computer for the internet and writing and printing documents, this is a good option. ... show more

    • Great Purchase, Things to Ponder
Style: Laptop
A solid laptop overall, certainly an upgrade from my previous one. When unplugged, the battery tends to run out quicker than expected and it's not always clear whether the laptop is powered down. But the laptop has been handy, especially for the price paid.

I got this with the i5 processor, I really must say that I don’t see the difference between this and i7. It’s nice.

Review Image by Amazon Customer
In less than a month, I got a message that said “ the battery is reaching the end of its usable life”. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with everything else on the laptop.

    • I’m no genius with laptops but this was just not what I expected.
Style: Laptop
I’m super disappointed in this laptop. It doesn’t have but a half little backspace and is it me or should it have keypad in the corner. Maybe I should have researched it more. And actually looked for the issue before I bought it. That’s okay though, I’ll just have to get used to it. Ty
