Struggling with an odd 1970s bathroom. No airflow- windows is bizarrely small. Spent hours scrubbing for mold so I sprung for this purchase hoping it would help the room to dry out to repaint it. Instantly the room changed, smells better and is drying better. I was shocked how the room smells so much cleaner after running it a few hours. It does make noise but it’s circulating air too! I wish I bought this sooner! I might move it around and run it in my closet for too! Night and day difference with the air quality. I am in south NJ- humid mold central. I have mold growing on my house it’s so bad this year. My kids like the that it lights up and the different colors. I like the fact that you have the option to use drain hose to drain water, saves on having to empty every day. Controls are really simple…. Too simple maybe. Also it does not have a humidity sensor on the unit so can’t really tell if it’s working well or not except by how much water it pulls. About half of its little tank a day in an AC cooled room in south Florida. Take that for what it’s worth. Was kinda expecting more water. I have bought a humidity sensor to go along with it, 2 in fact so I can read the room it’s in and another for comparison. We shall see. I gave it 4 stars based on price and ease of use.

Small machine, but it sucks in a lot of water quickly. I empty it out every 5-6 days, so it’s definitely working. Night mode is pretty quiet.

First off the product picture shows a picture of the inner works and not the actual product. When I got the unit I was happy to see it's a normal looking and fully functional dehumidifier and not a component for dehumidifier unit. This dehumidifier unit is very compact. I needed it for my wardrobe cabinet where I store my camera gear. I wanted a compact dehumidifier to control the humidity. This dehumidifier was the perfect size for what I needed. Note, this dehumidifier requires it to run for 48 hours during its first use according to the manual. The default mode on this dehumidifier is to run continuously. You have the option to select a time limit (8, 12, or 24 hours). It does have a drain line so you can truly run it 24/7. This dehumidifier is pretty quiet on normal mode, there's a sleep mode which is even quieter and turns off the LED lights. Speak of LED lights, there are 8 color option along with 1 setting that cycle between the 8 colors. You can turn off the lights in normal mode as well. There is a built-in float switch that should turn off the unit if the tank is full. I can’t say how power efficient this unit is since I don’t have a way to measure power consumption. As I stated I got this to control humidity for my camera gear and I think it’s working fine for that.

First of all, the only image accompanying the product listing for this dehumidifier is for the inner components of the unit. This is a confusing choice, but I did receive an actual, whole dehumidifier unit that doesn't just look like a couple of vents. I placed it in our bathroom, which is about 5'x5', contains only a shower and a toilet, and has zero ventilation. The dehumidifier was a simple set up, and was ready to go in minutes. It took about two and a half days to fill up the tank the first time, but the second time, the tank filled up much more quickly. There wasn't a significant change of moisture in that time, so I guess it just takes some time to really get going. There is a plastic piece inside the tank that is supposed to float when the tank is full, shutting the unit off. I found that this piece did not actually float, so the unit did not automatically shut off. I was monitoring it during this time, so it didn't overflow on me, but if I had not been keeping a close eye, it would have overflowed. I'll be taking a piece of the foam that it came with and attaching it to the "float" so that it actually... well... floats. There is a hose that you can use instead, and have it empty into the sink. I have also seen products that create a gap between a toilet seat and the bowl, and I'm going to try that out and see if I can have this drain into the toilet, which would be exceedingly convenient. There are several functions. You can have it on a timer to automatically shut off, or you can have it continuously running (which is what we do; tiny bathrooms with no ventilation pretty much never dry out). It's not very loud; it's a hum that I've easily acclimated to. That said, there is a night function, which makes it quieter, and turns off the interior light (though it does not turn off the indicator lights, something that does not bother me in the slightest). I like the interior light, because it acts as a nightlight in our bathroom. It also illuminates the small window in the front of the unit that allows you to see how much water has been collected. The default setting for the light is a gradual fade between the different colors, which is my favorite, but you can also set it to be a solid color if you're less obsessed with color than I am. Overall, this is a good purchase, especially for the price. A larger or more powerful dehumidifier would pull moisture out of the air more quickly, but would also not be nearly as affordable as this one (I've looked). This does the job quite well, and I'm pleased with it.
