Dee Zee Tool Box - Plastic Crossover Tool Box. Constructed of strong yet lightweight plastic. Sliding hook style latching system for a tight seal. Lockable lid. Available for full-size and midsize trucks. Closed cell foam gasket. Designed to Weather the Storm : Security with a lightweight ridgid frame. Metal striker plates are integrated into the lid to engage a full- length locking rod. This single moving part sucks down the entire rigid lid for secure closure every time. The rotary keyed lock stops the bar from moving when locked. Both the keyhole and sliding rod operate from the driver’s side.

Aluminum crossover tool boxes have gotten lighter gauged and much more expensive recently. I decided to try a plastic one for cost reasons and durability. This box is not quite large enough, but I will use it. Five inches narrower in width than full sized boxes makes a significant difference in interior space. Beware you get what you buy the lock is a bigger joke than the government I have done everything you could think of to get it to work but no luck and talk about collecting more water than it sheds it is the next worst thing about it. I have had to make a drain on the bottom side to open up before it rains if not it will be half full of water the next day. ... show more

Complete garbage. The middle of the box has sunken in upon itself. I live in NJ and it was installed in January while it was not 10,000 degrees outside. I would get it, if it had submitted to the sun in Phoenix in July and had collapsed under its own weight, but come on! This product is composed of recycled Pepsi plastic bottles. Garbage! I couldn’t give this box away to a recycling facility if I paid them... Invest in American made steel. ... show more

After being in the Florida sun for 3 years with no more than 50lbs of items stored, the box warped almost 1in on each end and had to be discarded as it would no longer latch. A simple steel angle riveted to the inside of the box would prevent this.
