Top Amazon Reviews

  • Outstanding quality and features
Although I don't usually write reviews I wanted to make sure a product like this gets the credit it deserves. Generally speaking I've noticed a massive decline in the quality of manufactured products and when you come across something like this that is worthy of being called extreme quality I get excited. I almost opted for the Blackmagic Multiview 4 HD and I'm so glad I didn't. That's not to say the Blackmagic Multiview isn't a good product, I've never used it but in regards to the features the Decimator DMON QUAD is absolutely incredible. I have my three cinema cameras hooked up to it and I'm outputting to a older pc monitor. I own several monitors but wanted to make use of a older DVI only input monitor so bought a dvi to hdmi cable. At first the monitor wouldn't recognize the signal but the Decimator has a selectable output option one of which is DVI. Who would have thought? Works like a charm. I haven't yet connected the Decimator to my pc to create custom window layouts but the default layouts are perfect for what I need. The Decimator DMON QUAD outputs 1080p or lower resolutions. Thats not a problem at all! All of my recording is done in camera or on a dedicated recorder at higher resolutions. I purchased the Decimator as a multiview for a directors monitor. I can choose between having fullscreen for any input and switching between them or having two, three, or four screens up all at once. I can also choose to have one large and two small, etc. This is all through the buttons on the front of the device and come as default. There are endless settings in there for input and output, framerate and everything else. They thought of everything. The compatibility is amazing. I was amazed to find that there is virtually no lag from my cameras to the monitor. Even when all screens are up. Everything displays in realtime. You can tell they used quality electronics inside the device. The device itself is made out of aluminum and is extremely durable and very well built. I originally thought it was made of red plastic until I received it. The features and settings suit any and every situation. ... show more

  • Absolutely Invaluable!
If your a multicam video guy or gal, this thing is invaluable. Switch between 4 cams, in several different formats. Add titles and much more. Definitely use it with the downloadable software and a laptop. For the money, it is the second most valuable piece of equipment on our shoots next to the cameras. ... show more

  • Great device
I found the product worked exactly as advertised. The fact that it interfaces with a laptop quickly and easily are great I find it easier to use a laptop than navigate the menu on the device. That would be a personal preference however. All in all a great device with robust construction. Also found the tally light interface easy to use. ... show more

  • Love Decimator
I love all the Decimator products that I have purchased in the last year. If they needed a sales report in the south west I'm their guy. The quad is very robust, hardly any delay. Plenty of options. Perfect for my needs.

  • Display works well when new... give it time and you'll be very unsatisfied.
I have a variety of Decimator, as well as Blackmagic, AJA, Kramer, Datavideo and Roland converters and distribution amplifiers. They all do what they state they will do. However, as time passes the Decimator units have revealed built-in product obsolescence. The Decimator LCD display works well when new. But, over time, the LCD display will become difficult to read. A known issue that Decimator will not acknowledge or resolve. The solution is an easy two solder points and ribbon cable swap - if you could get a replacement display module (a $15 part on the open market), which Decimator will not sell. From now on I'll be sticking with other manufacturers who don't design in product failure. Oh, wait... what was I thinking... when the LCD display is all but useless you can always bring a laptop with you to make adjustments! ;-) ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed to complete the job
