As with having a hernia from upper stomach incision my doctors don't want to do a surgery unless I have no choice and can't keep my inside on the inside. These 9-inch binders work great for me and at a good price plus the Velcro sticks very good to the binder material and just about anything else it comes in contact with. As being a 9-inch binder, it allows me to comfortably wear jeans (pants). Whereas with the 12-inch binders that I have I have to wear bib overalls because with jeans they won't stay up around my waist and slide down on the 12-inch binders.

I ordered this to wear while recovering from top surgery. I wore this (and another brand’s) for about three weeks, and this one has held up the best. It remains stetchy while staying secure, and is still incredibly soft. I hand washed the wrap in warm soapy water and hung to air dry with no issues at all, and it did not effect the compression. The velcro is strong and has not needed to be resewn down. I wear this garment across my chest, and I have not experienced any chaffing or skin irritation underneath my arms or along the edges of the garment! The velcro stops and ends before the edges of the wrap which helps significantly in remaining comfortable. My only issue is that the Velcro is almost TOO strong — it has begun pull at the fabric and is almost pilling. But, so far that is only a cosmetic issue and it does not change it’s effectiveness.

I love this binder so much that I actually told the plastic surgeon that they should purchase this kind. It provides enough binding and support but it is still breathable and it actually fit me from right underneath my breast down to underneath my what I would call my c-section pouch. I had to wear it due to having fat grafting after my breast reconstruction so a.k.a. liposuction and the one binder that I got sent home with from the plastic surgeon was too short to keep on adjusting it and it did not breathe so I read a lot of reviews about this one and I got it and I am so thankful I did.

The strongest thing on this lightweight compression garment is it closure. The Velcro closure is so difficult to pull a part, you might need two hands to do so. The actual compression material is more like the kind you find in soft athletic socks, for prepubescent children. Its binding effect on a scale of 1 to 100, when 100 stands for 'you can't breath' and 1 is your 'daily underwear' is about a 3. The actual knitting of the fabric is done in a stitch that is not going to compress, much of anything, even when you have fair musculature. It has no chance of binding or stabilizing your core muscles (at least with human bodies in moderately good condition). If you are looking to improve oxygenation and circulation while reducing inflammation, this is not the one.
