Really Woot? Excitedly bought this awesome machine with a good price for like new condition. It's going to be a gift for my wife, so I'm planning to get it ready before her return home Monday. Got it today, set it up - filter, water test, add beans, turn it on, good to go. Grab a cup to brew a test espresso and the worst screeching I'd ever heard started and by the time i figured out how to emergency stop the grinder, smoke was starting to drift up from the rear vents with a bad, hot metal smell. Contacted Amazon, they contacted woot on my behalf. Woot responded and said the unit, delivered today, was past the 90 day return window, so contact De'Longhi. I let them know they were mistaken and this needs to get taken care of as quick as possible. While waiting for a reply, i decided to see what I could see. Disconnected it, removed the guard on the hopper, recovered the beans as best i could, and started brushing out the remnants of beans that must have started to grind. As i cleared the remnants away, I saw what i thought was a broken bit of grinder. Grabbed a needle-nosed pliers and pulled out a chewed up screw. Thought maybe it was from the brand new beans, but the screw is suspiciously the same size as the (all accounted for) screws holding the grinder guard in place. So much for Woot's great (and supposedly guaranteed by mother company Amazon) inspection process for these "Like New" Renewed units. Really disappointed in both Woot and Amazon here. I've yet to hear back from anyone, but wanted to warn others ASAP that these renewed units appear to not actually get much "inspection." I'll update this if they ever remedy this situation. ... show more

I purchased this refurbished machine and was disappointed right out of the box. There was water and coffee grounds inside the plastic bag, which makes it clear the machine wasn’t properly cleaned before being resold. On top of that, it leaks a large amount of water from the bottom. The water ran down my bar and onto the floor. Overall, this machine arrived in poor condition and doesn’t work as it should. Waste of time. Arrived and within 10 min it is being returned as the front cover with grounds tray is completely missing. I do not recommend purchasing this renewed product. I read someone else was missing parts and decided to take a chance. That was a mistake.

This was well packaged and easy to set up. It's only been a few days, but we have been loving this machine so far. Put beans in, make sure there is water in the machine, push a button... and good tasting coffee comes out.
